Melo has only played 40 games and he still leads the Knicks...
I mean it just seems pretty obvious to me if you're a star player on a crap team playing only 50% of the games so far you'd probably lead FGA

Yet only 3rd in shots made, with Ed Davis catching up on just barely over half the attempts. :yaohappy:

I think on most teams the person with the 2nd highest volume shooter would shoot more by being the highest volume shooter for half the season while #2 for the other half of the season. You have to chuck a lot to beat that person out in half the games played on most teams.

If this team had any good players on it to step up in his absence I'd worry but it doesn't so I won't

this... you want kobe to be taking shots, he also leads the team in usage, is second in assists and 5th in rebounds despite missing half the games played.. all of this is not a bad thing although the trolls here on ISH will try to spin it that way...
you also have to look at it with context too
even though Kobe has missed half the games played he's still 3rd in games started and even two weeks ago was in the top 5 in minutes played
Then you have the fact Scotts' been playing with rotations non stop this season benching guys for a week then moving them back into the rotation while another guys sits out for a few games as the Lakers take a long look at who's coming back next year, who's going to be looking for a new team

There's nobody who's even close to 20 ppg besides Kobe, obviously he would lead them in FGA
There's nobody who's even close to 20 ppg besides Kobe, obviously he would lead them in FGAyep.. next closest active player to Kobe's 22 ppg is Hill at 12ppg

That's kobe in a nutshell. I don't doubt that dude shotjacked this season pretty much just to pass Jordan in scoring.
