Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will play Friday night against the Indiana Pacers despite battling a head cold.
James was sick and didn't attend the Cavs' morning shootaround. He was questionable until an hour before tipoff when the Cavs announced he will start.
Coach David Blatt said James has the typical "achy" symptoms.
James has missed 11 games this season with a variety of injuries. He sat out two weeks to rest a sore left knee and lower back. The four-time league MVP is averaging 25.8 points, 7.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game.

As it was pointed out many times, it was pretty amazing that Dirk was able to play in the Finals with a cold.

-Wilt Chamberlain (partial tear of the calf muscle in his right leg, a strain in his right thigh and an injured right toe):
Oh, and he played 48 mpg in that seven game series.

As bad as Wilt was at shooting FT's, how about this...
http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/ft_season.html
The SECOND greatest season in NBA history in FT's MADE...and just behind Jrry West's record season of 840 made...AND...just ahead of MJ's BEST season.
Oh, and in his 100 point game...
28-32 from the line.

And he'd be the strongest man of this era, too. You kids really don't have a clue.

Jordan played Game 5 of the 97 Finals with the flu, he scored 38 and the Bulls won by 2.

LeBron > Wilt. Deal with it and move on.
Wake up kid, you're dreaming again. Lebron James isn't even an all time top ten player, regardless of what you and your cronies think. He's played in by far and away the weakest era the NBA has seen since the 50's. Wilt, on the other hand, sits at the top side by side with Jordan as the two greatest players the NBA has seen. So there you go kid.....deal with it.

What's the point of this thread? That the media talks about everything? That's all I can take away from the first post
LeBron played and put up 29/7/5 and had 13 in the 4th

It's NONSENSICAL.
If you have a job...do you get praised for going to work in an eight-hour shift with a head cold?
"Wow...that guy sure is an iron-man!"
"Yep...and last week he worked an entire shift with a hang-nail, too."
"True, he did leave early with that head-ache one day, but geez, who wouldn't have?"
"Oh, and he actually worked three weeks in a row without asking for a day off, too."

LeBron had a great game against the Pacers.
And I guess he somehow overcame a head cold in doing so...

When using the word era...what time periods are we talking about here? For all we know he could be talking about pre and post NBA/ABA merger :lol

Who is praising him? It sounds like the media is just reporting on anything and everything LeBron James.

Well, for one the CURRENT NBA. You can generalize the other "eras" as you like.
