AI was incredibly marketable.

I imagine wilt would have been very marketable in the modern era. Probably similar to shaq.

That being said Mike probably takes the cake here.

Considering he's still relevant to this day, and the measuring stick as a player ... his shoes, and products dramatically out sell anyone else. Including today's stars. And he just became a legit billionaire, even after his ex took a chunk of his finances, the answer is fairly obvious.

It took him 52 years to be a billionaire :oldlol:

LeBron will probably be one before he's 40

1. Even attempting to use that to downplay Jordan is laughable

Dude's a billionaire regardless

2. LeBron won't even be closing to sniffing 1b by 40

Since you wanted to seem more important than you are I'll translate your words: I'd suck MJ's dick.

You're welcome Sammyswish.

When another NBA player teams up with the looney toons to save the world, then we can talk. We should all be grateful for his courage and service...

Not really. "Net worth of $1billion" doesn't mean you have $1billion. It means the money you have in addition to the estimated value of your assets is $1billion. After Balmer's purchase of the Clippers, the value of NBA franchises has skyrocketed. The majority of MJ's net worth probably is the estimated value of his stake in his team.

Jordan is the most marketable basketball player I think for sure. Shaq with all the endorsements he's done would have to be second. I think Magic, though he was back then as well, would have been extremely marketable if he played today.

I think Jordan is probably the most marketable athlete ever. The only three I can think of close would have been Tiger Woods (before the fall), Babe Ruth, and Muhammad Ali (had the most charisma, but was for sure totally controversial)

All said, looks like Lebron is quietly building something pretty big. I think he'll be the richest one day if he keeps working with guys like Buffett and keeps his goals where they apparently are.

Jordan's brand still sells today, long after he's been retired for more than a decade.

Amount of money made or net worth does not equal marketability.

Yup and a huge chunk of that money came big time endorsements and marketing deals.

Your investments are still your money. They're just less liquid and typically they're better at making money then straight cash.
