29 points, 5 Rebounds and Assists On 10-16 FGA, leading Lakers to the W.

Discuss is he worth the linsanity hype or is he still the worst player in the NBA?

Well Jackson getting his dick sucked in a thread about a game against a PG line up of Pressey.

Why? Canaan had a 31/7/6 against OKC earlier in the year.

Any scrub can go off during the year, doesn't mean they're not a scrub, hence why Lin will fool another stupid team into giving him another contract, probably the same idiotic Lakers.

he's a legit NBA player. can we all just leave at that?
clutchfans red necks underrated him,
asian fans overrated him,
just leave him alone!

It's been pretty well established even when he was with Houston that he would be an All-Star if the NBA only comprised of the bottom 50% of players. But since that ain't gonna happen, he's just an average player, just like any average player fighting to stay relevant in a league where there is a bunch of hungry hotshot kids entering the league every year. Trying to make a living in NBA is quite an accomplishment by itself.

Ish Smith career average 3/2/1.5 reb
Canaan 7/1/1
Lin: 11/5/3

These are through today. And keep in mind Lin played maybe 5 mpg his entire first year and most of his second bringing down his numbers.

Why don't we take a look at their best season?

Lin: 15/6
Canaan: 13/3 (This is his career on the Sixers so far through 15 games, small sample size)

Canaan is a career 38% shooter (trash) while Lin is career 44% (mediocre)

There's no metric that favors Canaan or Smith except slightly less TOs. Lin gets more blocks, steals, rebounds, assists, points, fg%, ft%. I realize you dislike Lin but you could be rational about it. He's one of the better 6th men in the game.

He's a quick guard with good size, a sloppy handle, and an inconsistent shot. He's good attacking off a pick.

I think it's common knowledge at this point that Lin is an average player. In the right situation, he could be a valuable weapon. Or he could be redundant on a lot of teams because of the amount of PnR guards in the league.

I feel like Pop would use him pretty well. Mike D'Antoni obviously. I can't think of anyone else tho. Maybe Kerr or Thibs?

I know you don't watch the games, so I'll bear with you here, just stick to boxscore watching this years stats:

Canaan: 13/3
Lin: 11/4

Both scrubs, both get the green light to chuck since their teams are horrible, stats look good because once in a while their shot is going, like Canaan at OKC and Lin now against the Sixers.

when there's no pressure and no expectations to do much in a garbage season, lin might finally perform against one of the sorriest teams in the league.

First of all, I watch damn near every Warriors game, don't talk to me about boxscore watching this entire year.

And dude... those aren't canaan's stats this year. Those are Canaans stats SINCE joining the Sixers, all 13 or 15 games of them. I could have posted Lin's stats SINCE the ASB and they'd be much better than that but that would be misleading, now wouldn't it? Come on dude.

I'm not saying Lin is amazing. I'm not saying he's a top 10 PG. I'm not saying he's near all star level. But saying he's not better than Canaan is pretty laughable.

Why tf would I post Canaan stats as a Rocket? Nikka wasn't playing significant minutes. Also, should I be impressed by Lin stats post all star break, in a lost season, with no shot creators aside from Clarkson, on a team that's constructed to lose as many games as possible?

Even then, you take 11 on 43% over 13 on 37% and Lin has more assists

If Lin is the center of the offense, he can do this a lot. He proved that in NY and never get a chance to prove it again.

Trouble is Jeremy Lin on the road vs Jeremy Lin at home... his road numbers really drop off... example, 9 points 37% shooting on the road vs 13 points 48% at home, this is what you expect out of a rookie or role player not a guy charged with running your offense
