^- article on the subject of how basketball uniforms went from short shorts and tank tops to FULL leg tights or knee high sox, shorts that cover their knee caps, sleeves to cover their arms, etc.
Honestly it does kind of seem like the jock mentality of basketball players has gotten more and more insecure from the early 90's until present. These guys are some of the fittest people on the planet, and they're afraid to show their freaking knees!?
:biggums:
A few players in the article admitted the articles of clothing are pretty much non-functional and they're not sure why the trends are what they are but then you have guys that are in denial saying it's for "sweat management" and what not :lol thought it was an interesting read on an otherwise uneventful monday.

I couldn't care less to be honest. I do think it's funny though, watching people suit up for my rec league games wearing tights and arm sleeves like their fav players when you can tell that type of "gear" is non functional :lol

Maybe its psychological, because it makes them feel more like prime AI?

I was thinking about this when the season started.
Dwight Howard is basically in pants and a long sleeve shirt most of the time.(when he's actually playing)

You've pretended to be 15 for the past 4 years now. Don't you think it's time to update your gimmick?

Trends will be trends.
I'm surprised mid-calf socks ever came back. I know they've been in for a while now but before their return, I always thought that was the one size that wasn't likely to make a comeback. A size just above one's shoes seemed adequately minimalist, ankle socks seemed clean, and knee-highs seemed just gaudy enough for the unique crowd. Mid-calf socks just seemed awkward in-betweens. Yet, here we are.
On a personal front, I'm mostly accessory-free, though I'm occasionally drawn to some vanity-based alterations. I have a few pair of knee-socks and I wore a headband on rare occasions in high school.
