Makes sense. They both seem like guys who like to do their own thing and mostly keep to themselves. Westbrook seems to demand respect from those around him, even if he doesn't want to really fraternize with them, whereas Love doesn't seem as prickly about alpha BS. I'd imagine they had a good mutual connection as teammates at UCLA. They certainly had on-court chemistry.
