Dude have no discipline inside and outside the basketball court. I remember when he was drafted as a teenager in the NBA. I thought he was going to have a longer NBA Career.

Holy shit this was before he got evicted, he actually had refused to leave. Dude's life must have spiraled completely out of control after he couldn't play basketball anymore. Allegedly made 20 million, probably pissed it all away on that house, tattoo's, drugs, weapons and who knows what else then got his feet cut out from under him.

It's like an adult version of the movie Home Alone.

I want a rock right now.
Rob Freebase, I came to get down.
I'm not internationally known,
but I'm known to abandon homes.

egads.... you get the feeling the next time we hear about him it will be something tragic

Sad how some people get to that place in their lives where they let things slide to that point

2 years ago wonder where he is now

From what I was gathering, he was partnering with another feller to strong-arm folks who'd rung up drug debt. It's linked within your story, but he was also involved in a weapons raid a few months earlier that turned up a grenade launcher, amongst 18 other guns: http://deadspin.com/former-nbaer-a-heavily-armed-heroin-addict-with-grena-1658655505

Had his whole life paid for and threw it away for some dope. Pretty sad actually.

When you pay 18 year olds off "potential" and tell them how great and set for life they are from age 12 and up, you don't think some of those people are going to crack and **** up big time?

I still make bad decisions at 28, I can't imagine being 18 and being given a check for 20 million dollars and being told how great I am for reaching the NBA and how "set" I am for life and what my lifestyle should be like from there on out.

...only to tear an ACL ONE MINUTE into my first ever pre-season game, then be labeled a bust, than tear the ACL in my other leg, then be labeled injury prone, then get cut from an NBA team and put in the D-League (where the average salary is 27,000 dollars a year), then get signed by a team in Japan.

Guy was probably depressed and confused as ****, this NBA thing with millions of dollars attached was handed to him before he was mature enough to realize what it was, and how to hang on to it. Pissed away his money. Pissed away his life. It's not easy to feel bad for a millionaire but man, that guys life is a wreck.

Swift is definitely an argument for the 2 years in college supporters...

There needs to be a better mentorship program in place for these guys, not just a rookie orientation for a week where they walk into the future with a 50 page handbook on how to be an NBA player
