You reach, I teach.
Bad defense.
Even listening to the game on my way in, not once did the Pacers radio commentators complain about the fouls. Instead, they were berating their team for fouling too much.
You can complain if you want, but even the other team's radio hosts knew they were legit.
It was...
"Hill reaching again"
"Hill slapping his arm"
"Scola got caught moving his feet"
Over and over again.

All we want to see is this dude do anything similar to this in the playoffs over an entire series
this type of play won't fly in the post season, and that's the worst part for Houston fans

He's a talented actor without a doubt. Very few initiate and sell contact as well as James Harden can.
Fun fact:32% of Harden's career points have come from FT's

It's 30.9% (2630/8500), but that's kinda close to 32%.
Westbrook, Durant, and Curry are all around 28%. I think Lebron is around 24%.

Russell Westbrook a few nights ago: 36 points on 8-26 shooting with 22 FTA. No one is talking about that because we LOVVVVEEEEE GOATbrook so he gets a pass. Lol.

Because he's much better and entertaining and not a fvk boy
Russ gets fouled being the most aggressive player in the league
Harden just tries to draw fouls

Okay? I love Westbrook, and he's really fun to watch but that shouldn't mean that he should get a pass whenever he has a terribly inefficient game like he had a couple nights ago.
36 pts on 8-26 with 22 FTA? C'mon now... If Harden had a game like that all of ISH would be freaking out right now, calling him every bad thing imaginable.

That, and just the general feeling that this style of play is so dependant on refs. Which makes it harder to respect their game.
So if they were playing without refs, either they'd be whipping knives out and getting crazy like prison ball (the crazy alphas like Westbrook), or they'd be useless.
In the context of the NBA, it's smart to draw fouls. And yeah the defense is a part of it. Bad defense fouls more. Fouls get the opposition in foul trouble etc. But you still like to think that superstars (or stars) could dominate even if there weren't any refs.
They all do this to some extent, but it's pathetic to see players that are dependant on the refs whining about calls. It's like a baby that has lost it's rattle. Mummy.. the refs are ruining my game.

Face it . He's just good. He's tall, long arms, tight handle, crafty, quick. Every tool for a superstar. When you're that good of a player you get hacked because people just can't keep up with you.

Hardens not aggressive? are you people blind. He attacks the basket a 100 miles an hour especially in the open court. The guy grabs the defensive rebound and attacks the defense in the open court as well as anyone in the league. Does he initiate contact? offcourse, but that's because he is looking to attack the basket and he also has the best stepback jumpshot in the league.

How does that help him draw fouls?
Didnt read. Just better show up in the playoffs. I dont even care if he loses in the first round. Better be an mvp type performance.

His reputation as a flopper is what hurts him here.
I agree that he has cleaned up his act this year and is getting legitimately fouled but ISH never forgets. Ever.

People who say that just have an agenda.
Because, with a simple look, you can see that Harden averages 10.9 drives per game, 8th in the league.
Meanwhile, Westbrook is 14th at 9.8.
But Westbrook is more aggressive.

Actually making 10 shots is 3 more than his average FGM I think, I really don't care much, unless it's obvious favor calls which most of the time they are not.

if harden gets calls, so should westbrook, bron, melo etc. those guys really get fouled. harden is weak as fouls. he initiates all of them.

Yeah

Harden 9.9
Westbrook 9.7

That's more to do with aggressive nature on offense. Harden is not a timid player. He will never die wondering.

This is just downright outlandish and farsical. You are saying Harden dosent fouled at all?. Are you kidding me?Look as someone else mentioned he milks the fouls, but he milks them because there is actuall contact there and that itself by the letter of the law is a foul.

Or be a Stat nerd who enjoys James harden

I can't speak on the first game
But against the Pacers he was driving the paint, hard. I was actually quite impressed. One drive he took 3 guys into the paint with him and finished, he left one dude in the dust in the process and still finished over 3 guys. Shit was sick. The defense was poor AF tho

LeBron and Westbrook drive to finish at the basket (both are also concurrently alphas)
Harden and Servant drive to get to the line (both are also betas and best friends/fvckbois - they probably came up with this style of play while rimming each other)
I watched 2006 Wade so this is not impressive to me.

probably the best handle for his size, and he's built REAL solid. He seeks out contact because he can score through it. You either have to keep in in front of you (hard as hell to do) or hack him because otherwise he's scoring.
Boring to watch, and in the playoffs the fouls will come harder, and the refs will allow more.
