I don't think there is a rookie better than him since he started training with Kobe and Nash.

Good young prospect no doubt, in my book, still has a ways to go.

Has to catch Noel just to catch Mirotic just to catch Wiggins. So, no, he's not. Even then, a valid argument can be made for Payton over Clarkson. He's at worst been #5 rookie, which is no knock against him.
Very nice year, though. Really liked Clarkson pre-draft as a sleeper.

there is no 'valid argument' to be made. payton > clarksonPayton's #4 on my ballot Jam but I can see why some people would put Clarkson over him. He at least is a threat to hit a J. But I agree with you.

Besides elf, who else would you rank ahead of him???
Wiggins has the ROY in his pocket
Clarkson has improved throughout the season, he's made really great strides especially after the first of the year but he's not in this race.. he may pick up some votes, end up in the top 5 or something but that's about as close as he's getting

I think Smart has a good case.
I think Smart has a good case.
Going to be intrested in seeing these guards develop the next few years on the offensive end. Payton looked really promising the few games I've seen. Boston had a lot of truoble keeping him out of the paint. His outside shot is an issue but I feel its a lot more fixable than some of the other non shooting pgs in their rookie seasons. Smart has his flaws offensively as well, he is a streaky shooter but I more concerned with his ability to get to the rim. I feel like he should be able to adjust over the next few seasons once he learns how to use his strenght .

I hope we can keep him and Lin (at a very reduced contract). Clarkson is the clear starter though

Yeah I was talking to some Boston fans saying that Smart isn't really that quick so he has trouble getting to the rim and finishing and they just called me idiots lol

So Clarkson is better than Magic if he wins it?

yeah his lack of explosion probably limits his ceiling quite a bit but i hope some of his rookie struggles have more to do with learning to use his strength. He has a decent handle so he should be able to learn how to use his strength to finish through contact going forward and has shown some signs of that as of late.
