Not going to name the University due to some small legal risks associated with some things I've disclosed in the past while I served as my fraternity's president, but Biochemistry.

I won't say which school. It's in the bottom half of the top 100 universities though. Got into a few low tier top 50 schools. My grades/SAT score held me back from some schools I really liked that were in the mid tier top 50 schools.

I majored in a physical science. Definitely found it interesting yet challenging. Met my best friend here. Been an above average student all four years. Our school is fast pace academically, the nightlife here is meh but we are in a major city so there is always other things to do. After awhile you also realize which streets should be avoided late at night. Three or four large housing projects are about a mile off our campus in a certain direction. Getting robbed at gun point around here isn't uncommon.

If I was a high school senior year again, I would have applied differently. Go to big name/sports schools instead and have the time of my life and do well in school.

Kind of related to the OP. Interesting anyway:

These are the degree backgrounds of the world’s 100 richest people:
1. None (32)
2. Engineering (22)
3. Business (12)
4. Arts (9)
5. Economics (8)
6. Finance (3)
7. Science (2)
8. Mathematics (2)
9. Law (2)
- Other (8)

Not necessarily, I'm a senior and preparing for the next step which will be medical school. I didn't take the typical Biology route because frankly it's a joke of a major and I had no interest in being a part of the 2000 idiots that are "pre-med biology".

I would be very curious as to how the 2 people in the top 100 acquired that high of a net worth through sciences. While you can certainly earn up to 50 million if you're a extremely successful surgeon(and I mean top 1% of surgeons), I could see no possible way they could get into the billions.

Oh the "pre med biology" kids....have had some interesting group projects with them in bio classes. Always interesting seeing a lab partner freak out about a 89% on a collaborative lab report worth only 5% of your final grade and when the class average was a low B.

? Obviously the 100 richest people on earth didn't get there by working for wages...they're entrepreneurs of some sort or they inherited their wealth.

That's what I'm referring to, what could they have done in sciences to acquire a net worth in the billions? Unless they started a successful pharmaceutical company, there isn't THAT much money in the field unless you came from money. I assume they probably went into a field that wasn't centered around sciences at all.

They make me sick. They're always looking for a shortcut to an A by scoring well on the easiest assignments, such as labs/homework/extra credit, as they're generally not capable of scoring high enough on exams to earn their precious marks. Gen, O Chem, and Biochem with their constant complaining/begging were the worst 5 lectures of my college experience.

Biology, a joke of a major? :oldlol:

Get a strong comprehension of life at the macro and micro level of the human body, molecules, various kingdoms, and biochemistry (a mandatory class) and your truth and perception of the world WILL BE closer aligned to reality.

Lol, yeah, I'm sure someone will search through your post history to find incriminating posts about some douche fraternity you were in. Next they will file for subpoenas against Jeff and ISH to reveal your IP address. Then they'll go to your ISP to have them reveal your parents names and subsequently yours for criminal prosecution.

Dude says he's biochem. Biochem is way more legit of a major (much more rigorous) than just plain [pre-med] "biology". He's not saying that biology itself is a joke, but the major? Yeah it kind of is.

Nothing is applicable in the Biology major outside of genetics and plaque assays/stains for viral/bacterial quantification. I've taken some upper level bio classes(virology for one) and it's interesting but a complete waste of a college degree. You can literally read a textbook 2 hours a night for a year at home as a hobby and learn more about Biology than you ever would completing an undergrad in the program.

May not be a joke but more of a generic major. Is it more memorization than comprehension?

You can't memorize physics.

Not looking so hot right now but it is what it is. Done things that many 24-26 year olds haven't done and I'm thankful for that. Only regret is I wish I hadn't been so ignorant and taken a couple more easy lib arts classes to broaden my mind a bit.

Also wish I had taken advantage of the variety of free dance classes for personal development. Unfortunately, I didn't have the confidence back then. Still not too late to learn though.
