That's pretty awesome, but I don't see him being alone in that category for very long as today's big men like to shoot 3s

Lmao dude no way look at the first list. How many of today's big men make that first list without the 3s

How many modern big men are going to put up 25,000/10,000/3,000? Even if we forget about the 10,000/3,000/1,000 3s, only 19 players in league history have managed to post 25,000+ points in their careers. Dirk should be alone in that category for a good chunk of time.

LeBron counts as a big? :oldlol:

He's been listed as a small forward 9/12 years, a power forward 2/12 years, and a shooting guard 1/12 years. He can definitely play the 4 but he'll be remembered as a small forward.

1-4 is somewhat accurate, 1-5 is a little sketchier imo, but he'll be remembered as a 3...a versatile one, but a 3 all the same.

Anyway though, positional eligibility aside, LeBron is still 3,500 rebounds short. He's not there yet.

Either way, he could make that original list.

He definitely could make the list as a player, I just didn't agree with labeling him as a big. Barring injury he should reach 25,000/10,000/3,000/1000 3s...he'll probably create his own club, maybe something like 30,000/10,000/7,000.

Once Bran finds out there is a new statistical category he could be #1 in.......commence the statpadding. Bran will be like a prime Rodman if he reads this thread

Not to be a dick but this isn't surprising in the least bit. The common consensus around the NBA is that Dirk is the GOAT shooting big man. There isn't a debate.

He can still likely get those stats.

Funny not seeing Duncan on that list. WTF? not enough assists?

Duncan should be here. Per BBref he's at 25,815/14,544/4,031.

Duncan is on the list... He's got 25,000+ points, 14,000+ rebounds, 4,000+ assists and nearly 3,000 blocks

Yep...thought so. Duncan is better than both KG and Dirk anyway.

Not enough "converted threes" :lol

points: 25,815
rebounds: 14,544
assists: 4,031

3 pointers: 29

Duncan actually has more rebounds and assists than Dirk

Unless Love drops off the face of the planet, he has a chance at the latter list.

It's that 25k tho. There's only 19 players in NBA history who scored that much.

It's actually incredible and impressive how much some of the best bigs all time have scored on just 2-pt field goals alone (for the most part), or 3-pts the old fashion way (and-1). Dirk's shooting is also impressive - he's like a SG in some respects

Just looked it up. OP was just wrong. Duncan easily makes that list.

You don't need all these stats to show Dirk's uniqueness. You just need two.

Dirk is the only player with 10000 rebounds and 1000 made 3's. He's also the only one with 1000 blocks and 1500 made 3's.

Adding points and assists makes no difference.

Most rebounds by someone with 1500 made 3s other than dirk? Kobe with 6800. Most rebounds by someone with 1000 made 3s other than dirk? Sheed with 7404. Most 3s by someone with 10k rebounds other than dirk? Marion with 791.

Also for the lebron comparison you can always just add less than x turnovers to make the stat still unique to dirk. Lebron has I believe a little over 1k more turnovers than dirk already.

LeBron has 3,046, Dirk has 2,276. The difference will definitely exceed 1k by the time LeBron's career finishes.

If Dirk retires this year it should go on his HOF plaque. If he retires a year or two later Lebron might have claimed it by HOF time if he is playing PF.

raiderfan19

Lebron probably isn't going to get 10k rebounds. It would take 6 more years after this one at his career high rate to get 10k. And he has basically quit rebounding.

Missed Timmy, when I made the upper list he didnt have 25K points yet, just waited on Dirk getting those rebounds.

List must be outdated because he qualifies for this if you search on bball reference
