After being a pack a day smoker for the past few years, I decided to look past the doucheyness of vaping and bought a setup earlier this week. I'm glad I did, because not only do I love the flavors and lack of smell, but I haven't touched a cigarette since. Anybody else here go digital? A recommendations thread would be pretty cool if there are enough of us.

My step sister is a respiratory therapist and she was telling me they're getting more and more folks in with fungus growing in their lungs from vaping, and some of the molds are highly resistant to drug therapy...

I used to smoke cigs. Bought a vape kit a year or so ago and haven't looked back. I feel significantly healthier than I did when I smoked cigs. I also feel like my fitness in the gym had a ceiling on it when I smoked **** which is gone.

Its probably still bad for you. But I'd bet a fair bit that it's much better than tobacco.

Vape Pens are the greatest thing invented since sliced bread. I use it to smoke weed in public without the blunt.

Reduce the weed to a liquid then mix it with a vaping flavor.

I don't see how people think it's "douchey". Kids my age are smoking cigs and blacks, yet some get criticized for using a possibly a healthy alternative. I'm at the age where I can buy blacks everyday, all day and then end up sick to my stomach. Vaporizing is wayyy cheaper and healthier (short term) than any thing else on the market.

Nobody has a problem with hookah lounges, why hate on vape pens? Probably because kids have been doing smoke tricks and posting them to vine.

It's not a scientific mystery. You're removing combustion from the process. With marijuana it's 90%+ of potential carcinogens, might be less with cigs depending on their chemical makeup.

Definitely not saying that it's good for you, or there won't be studies 50 years from now saying it was a terrible idea healthwise. I did a lot of reading on it over the past couple of days, and at best it's inconclusive. Even primary care physicians' opinions aren't really valid at this point...my dad swears doctors used to recommend cigarettes for a stomachache when he was younger lol. Cigarette smoke is straight up disgusting though; I was mostly tired of my car smelling like an ashtray and having to carry Purell around every time I was stationed at a client site.

And the reason why I said it was douchey was because I've seen some dickheads who think it's appropriate to start blowing clouds of vapor in enclosed areas with other people, just because they technically can. Or the ones that give cigarette smokers shit for not "doing it on my level, bro."

Their liquid is not the best flavor you will ever have, but for the price it is very good. I get like 2-3 month supply for 80 bucks.

I used to buy from Altsmoke.com (www.altsmoke.com), which is still a great site, but their liquid prices have gone up. However, they have some great flavors and are top-notch as far as customer service. I would recommend anyone new to use their site, especially for ordering their first battery. They have a bunch of different batteries, chargers, tips, all the things you need when you order your first one. And they ship insanely fast.

Their flavors are very very good. They are more on the subtle side, not overpowering flavors. But they are some of the best you will ever try, guaranteed. They are also so good with presentation. Their bottles look nice, and you can pay a little extra for glass bottles. They send your liquid in these boxes with cool designs on them, etc. They go all out to make ordering from them a cool little experience. And their liquid is ridiculously good, like I said. The only problem I had with them was that it took a long time to get my order. It is a small business run by just a husband and wife, I think, so that is why. However, I think they have really sped up the process lately, so if you are interested I would definitely say try it out.

Edit - Another thing with them, you can only order at a certain time of the week. This coming week, you can order from Noon Tuesday through Noon Wednesday. Since the business is so small I believe they do this so as to not get swamped.

Fungus and bacteria, but none of the ingredients of e-liquids should cause that. A more likely explanation is simply that not cleaning your device properly, makes it a hive for bacteria and fungus. Makes sense to clean the thing daily really. You wouldn't use a glass or bottle for weeks on end without giving it proper wash.
