Yet Houston is 3rd in the West and Dallas is 7th.

Plus Houston has battled more injuries throughout the season than Dallas

Both are first round exits, but just interesting nonetheless

If they face the Spurs, yes.

At the same time, they could overtake Memphis as the 2nd seed. If they face Dallas in the first round, I'm going with Houston

Dallas ****ed up when they got Rondo. Got too greedy , they were straight with what they had.

That Cuban.

The were mediocre even before, that's why they did the trade.

Dallas is still better, they're really good while Houston is average.

James Harden and the Rockets aren't winnters, and they will get bumped out in the first round again. Just like the last 2 years

Rockets have mediocrity written all over.

What if they face each other in the postseason?

Who wins then?

I pray Houston gets Dallas in the first round.

If the Mavs are better then why are they the 7th seed while Houston is 3rd? I don't get how they're average at all. Also, just because Houston lost in the 1st round for 2 straight years doesn't mean they're going to stay 1st round losers forever.

In 2013, the Rockets faced the OKC Thunder. As an 8th seed, we managed to take em to 6 games. Had they closed out Game 3, the series could've gone to 7 games. 2014 was just unfortunate. Every game in that series was close, but Portland won in the end because they made shots when it mattered the most. Teams change over time, and Houston definitely looks better this year than they ever have since Harden joined the team. Teams move and learn from their past experiences.

Houston will still lose in the 1st round.

In the West, 4 extremely well deserving teams will lose in the first round. Even if we just go by the lower 4 seeds, it would be Spurs, Mavs, Thunder and Clippers. I know it sounds like making excuses, but (apart from Thunder), any team can knock out the other in the West, even in the 1st round. Last season, only the Portland-Houston series went to 6 games, all the other went to 7 games.
