He was a former Lakers player in the NBA too, and star at WVU just before Jerry West. A real showman with the ball.

I remember him calling Laker telecasts a few years back, and was immediately grateful I didn't have to hear Joel Myer's voice any longer. Unfortunately that didn't last long.
RIP to a freaking legend though. Household name in Utah for sure.

I was young at the time I was an intern at KMPC radio (los angeles) and tagged along with Rick Woodley who was the sports reporter for KMPC. just shook Hot rods hand and observed his convo with RW but you could tell the kind of guy he was.
