The team with the worst record, this year the Knicks, have a 64.3% of their pick landing in the top 3. That means that there is a 35.7% chance that they end up with the 4th overall selection, the worst team in the league.

Compare that to only having a 25% chance of winning the lottery, first pick, how is that fair? To a team so shitty.

Look at the last four 4th picks:

Aaron Gordon
Cody Zeller
Dion Waiters
Tristan Thomspn
Wesley Johnson

The worst team should be guaranteed at least top 3, come on nikka.

This is why some lottery teams stay terrible.

The whole idea of the Lottery was to lessen the rewards of tanking. This would just increase it.

That doesn't even make sense, more teams are tanking now than ever.

There is no reason they should have a better chance of getting the 4th pick rather than the 1st if they have the best odds.

Baseball has no problem with tanking baseball with it's massive schedule, neither does the NFL. It's just plain idiotic. To reduce tanking eliminate all the odds, everyone has the same chance.

What date do we get the order? I don't remember

Increased odds and guaranteed slots are two different animals.

This year's 4th pick should be good. Russell? Mudiay? Winslow? I would be ok with any if the Knicks fell to 4th (plz no).

Please, Knicks need a top 2 though. They don't tank every year like Philly.

Don't play dumb with me you little bitch.

The Sixers could be picking 6th this year. ****ing 6th.

GOBB in all likelihood would kill himself.

why do people think that every team that sucks is tanking? sure the knicks made some questionable moves (for the present), but it's not like they would be playoff contenders anyway. they'd probably win like 30 games which, even in the east, still wouldn't be enough to secure a playoff spot

There's been a lot of busts as the #1 overall pick since 1985.

Let's be real, they're tanking, but it doesn't matter, they should be rewarded for their terrible record, having a better chance at #1 overall AND a guaranteed top 3. You think it's easy being that awful for 82 games? It's painful enough without being raped in the draft lottery afterwards.

I think its sometime around the beginning of the 2nd round IIRC.

They could always make an attempt to win games if they are upset as you with the lottery procedures.

Both have enormous problems with tanking. They just don't care as the impact at the top of the draft isn't nearly what it is in basketball.

There was a vote before the season started to make the lottery far less skewed to the lesser teams. It would have allowed for the Knicks to end up with the 7th pick.
