that was on a playoff team?

KD still MVP last year
Bran has 5 straight MVPs

http://www.basketball-reference.com/leaders/ws_yearly.html

I'd honestly be fine with that list.

It should be WS/48. That way, T-Mac has an MVP

Seriously though, I don't think just one stat should decide an MVP

Man who cares about these MVP awards? I wasn't aware this whole board were player stans where they obsess over an individual's accolades. As a Knicks fan, I wouldn't give a shit if Melo was in contention for an MVP award or not, especially if they were in contention for a title. Unfortunately I won't have to worry about that because Knicks suck.

Holy shit Adrian Dantley would be the GOAT contender if he played today

Win shares is one of many advanced metrics (and by no means the most predictive one) so I wouldn't agree with that methodology, but its still better than how some posters on here try to determine who the MVP is.

The only problem I think people might have is with Nash vs Dirk in 04-05 and 05-06.

James Harden is also leading the league in turnovers. Should he get a trophy for that one too.

Better list than the real one

either way you'l have discrepancies.. no stat tells the entire story or impact a guy has

so bill russell was never the most valuable player?
so magic johnson was never the most valuable player?
so david robinson was more valuable than hakeem olajuwon?
so adrien dantley was more valuable than kareem, magic, bird, moses in 1984?

i dont even have to bring up kobe to discount this idea

Better list than the real one

yeah, Shaq rightfully gets the MVP over Iverson, and Rose doesn't get his

well thats nice.. but giving shaq 1 more takes 5 away from russell, 3 away from magic

stats dont tell the whole story people... i thought ISH was smarter than this

beta message board at best

the player vote is the only thing that makes sense

they actually face the players and hear what other guys have to say behind closed doors

they know the true story

if the players voted.. shaq and kobe would have allot more than 1 mvp each

thats for sure

Wilt would have 8 MVPs. Oscar still gets one.

I have no problem with Magic's MVPs going to MJ. I won't comment on Russell as that's too far back for me.

you have no problem with michael jordan winning mvp on a losing team in 1987?

over Magic Johnson who won 65 games averaging 24ppg, 12apg, 6rpg, 2spg ?

Jeez, Harden is leading turnovers.

Lebron in top 3 and Westbrook in Top 5 turnovers.

Good MVPs tbh
