Teams are rarely discussed in here and when they are mentioned, they are mentioned to boost a player's value or downplay his value. Any reason? is it because the concept of team is more complex and abstract?

Probably, most topics like that would be in the team forum as opposed to this board.

It's because you can't call a team an overrated, choking ph@gg0t

Poster 1: 1987 Lakers defense vs 1996 Bulls defense who's better?
Poster 2: Bulls they had Jordan and Pippen
Poster 3: Lebron > MJ > Kobe
Poster 4: gtfo with that sh*t Lebron is not better than MJ

*Posters 1 and 2 leave thread

You want to talk about teams go to RGM, they get some great discussion going overthere

A lot of it is an NBA thing, imo.

NBA is a players league. Faces of franchises literally have their face plastered everywhere. The rules are designed towards individual talents, not to highlight team play. A single player can impact the game more than most (any?) other team sport out there. The NBA markets stars.

Rockets fans talk about the team in our own subforum. Too bad for other fan bases that have bandwagon followers that are player only fans. I bet a Lebron James subforum would get more hits than the Cleveland Cavaliers subforum.

Outside of the QB's impact in football you're 100% right imo.

If we're talking serious, exclusively team-oriented threads...threads for over half the teams in the NBA would be like 3 people talking to each other, or invaded by trolls who dislike one of the team's fans. It's why I stopped making game threads, it's just pointless here. Pretty much all the smaller team fans have other boards to post on. I post on the RGM Bucks board more as of recently, there's actually like 100+ posters on it and constant moderation to keep it civil. I know Jameer sometimes posts on the RGM Magic board too.
