It's hard. Bigs are supposed to be the last line of defense, the guys that take on the other bigs and stop the players funneled into the paint. When they suck it screws up everything defensively

Nope. That's why y'all need to draft WCS.

Curry
Harden (maybe Klay for better fit?)
Lebron
Ryan Anderson
Enes Kanter
... Maybe.

I imagine that Magic, Jordan, Pippen could have made it work.

Trade down for that then.
I would try to get a deal for DMC

I think it's really really hard to be good with a FC that doesn't play defense.
I want Cousins on the Magic but I want our pick this year too.

Do you think the Magic will get a better player in the draft?

Than Cousins? No. A player that's a better fit? Yes.

I doubt a team would like a 2nd Tier players so much they'd trade up for them and you'd guys get back a pick and asset that entices the Magic. You **** around and Sacramento or Charlotte will snag WCS.
The Magic have PG, SG, and SF locked down. Y'all need a defensive presence to complement Vucevic's offense and hide his flaws.

SF isn't locked up at all. Not sure why you think that...
also, teams trade up all the time. if a team has a guy they really want they will not hesitate to try and trade up.

I'm still on the Tobias Harris train. Whether all his points come off assisted he's still valuable for a passing PG like Elf.
Elf
Dipo
Harris
Vuce
Stein
Offense, Defense, Passing. All you guys need is to improve collectively at shooting.
Winning without an inside presence defensively is extremely hard. Damn near impossible in this new era of three point chucking

harris isn't worth the max. that team still has 2 bad defenders in the FC
I'd MUCH rather have
Elf
Dipo
AG
WCS
DMC
if it's possible

Trust me, with the inability for the Magic to be stable in the Head Coaching position you guys don't want to touch Cousins. Really isn't the locker room leader or team veteran you need with guys like Elf, Dipo, and Gordon still developing.
I'm also not sold on Aaron, yet. He's best at the PF position like Marion was with Steve Nash. If he develops a shot then that's another story.

There's going to be a different coach hhere next year. And saying we aren't stable with the HC position is kinda dumb. We've had 2 coaches in like 7-8 years. Cousins is a headcase but hopefully we can reign him in.
Gordon can really defend 1-4 positions. I don't think his position matter much tbh
Jam I think you're underestimating Cousins defense... The Kings are not exactly a defensive juggernaut.. Cousins is the least of their defensive problems and on a team that stresses defense if he had somebody beside him who could help on rotations Cousins will be more than adequate

Guess I used the wrong term, I guess the lack of good coaching the Magic have been voided since SVG was let go. You guys need a coach that can assist in developing the young players on and off the court. Like what Mark Jackson did for that Warriors' backcourt, or what Thibs does with all his young players.
I like Aaron Gordon, but on offense it's gonna matter if who he plays with on offense. In this era you're gonna need three or four guys on the court that can space the floor for an elite offense. If Aaron can't shoot that three with consistency then you're gonna have to play him with a shooter just for spacing reasons. You play him at the PF position then you guys turn into an elite defensive team just like that. The Magic would be able to switch on the Pick and Roll with confidence like Golden State is able to do with Draymond Green.

I was talking about the Magic. Cousins is a good defender. He's 3rd among centers in DRPM and 6th in the league.

Even if Gordon isn't the starter having that kind of roster gives us way more flexibility. We have good shooters already in Frye and Fournier. This just gives us more opportunities as far as lineups go. Starting AG isn't necessary.

I think you guys have something good, just takes one player to elevate his game with the help of one coach.

I don't like it. There's not a Nash on this team and most of those aren't good comparisons imo

Not typically but if you have ATGs at 2 and 3 it becomes a little easier.

Lakers repeated with Pau Gasol who sucks on defense.
