Hard to criticize success, especially when you do it on your own.

Really no debate on the MVP voting anymore, this will probably be the last thread made about the award until it's finally announced.

I don't care whether Harden scores 50+ for the rest of the regular season

Stephen Curry is the MVP

I always said if Houston could land a top 3 seed, Harden deserves the MVP.

Look at the team last night.

Joey Dorsey started at center, and the Rockets played Terry/Prigoni 40 combined minutes at the point.

I know its really tough for Curry to collect wins and dish out assists to Thompson/Iggy/Barnes/Green/Bogut/Lee/Speights/Holiday, awful, still gotta give the edge to Harden.

Can you be MVP if your team doesn't make the playoffs?

You're right, looks like they may.

Squeezing in at #8, only 20 games back.

In order for something to be "unanimous" everyone has to agree on it. That's what the word means. So, as there are other candidates receiving support (and a lot of it in some cases) this particular trolling topic is completely wrong.

Steph Curry is my favorite player in the League but Tbh Harden deserves that award.

He's got the stats
His team in a good seeding
Did more with less
And finishing strong

Curry has been putting up great stats but nothing mind blowing as of late

Westbrook is playing ferocious but if he gets it than it changes the face of what the MVP has stood for, and spits in the face of past players that should've won it in similar circumstances

And at this point I think Lebron is considered in 4th place and knows he's not gonna win

Congrats on your award Harden!

Has a shot at it? Sure.

Unanimous? Nah. Too many other people with votes are unequivocally backing someone else for the award.

Kareem, 1976.

At this point my MVP pick order would be Harden > Curry > Westbrook > LeBron. I love Westbrook but OKC's record won't be good enough for him to have a real shot, they'd need at least a 50-win season for him to receive serious consideration imo.

Harden is not the unanimous selection though, very good chance Curry gets it.

More successful, yes. Better? That's up for debate.

Harden: 28/6/7 PER: 27

Curry: 24/4/8 PER: 28

Somewhat similar numbers while leading their teams to some of the top records in the hostile West.

Not unanimous but this season, I give the nod to Harden.

Warriors without Curry still win 50 games. Rockets without Harden are a lottery team. Harden has done more with a lot less. King James is my MVP.

Yeah it's a 2 player battle. Hope he wins it, he is more important to the Rockets than Curry is to the Warriors. Although Curry is clearly the best player on the best team, which is how some previous MVPs won it. But those guys won it when there wasn't a clear MVP on another team. So I have no problem with Harden winning. Finna on, get past the 1st round now

these rockets fanboys need to stop smoking cracks, they cant even think straight for a second.

stop putting harden in the MVP talk. with all the hate and whistles harden is receiving, there's no way coaches and journalists gonna pick him over Curry.

STOP SMOKING POT!

EDIT: and i add. Curry = positive image in the league right now. He's the golden boy. Harden = party with stripper and hookers = negative impact.

Positive image has nothing to do with being the MVP. Harden has just as good a case as Curry for the award. Whether or not he wins is another matter, but he is a deserving candidate.

It's difficult for me to pick between Curry and Harden for MVP though I'd rather watch Steph put on a show like in the Garden a few years ago.

The thing is Curry has Thompson's support on offense and defense and a very well built team who knows where each one stands and how to get wins. Depth and talent.

Harden is playing with some guys that may surprise you are still in the league and not playing for the Mad Ants and the decaying corpse of Superman.

The Rockets maintained after losing their number two and Harden is the why.

My pick is reluctantly Harden but damn Curry is

He won the allstar voting so he going to win a popular vote.
I bet that if Kobe was on that list he would have been in second place.

Warriors without Curry still win 50 games. Rockets without Harden are a lottery team.

You're underestimating Curry's impact on the court. We would have started the season with Barbosa at point, and then eventually Livingston who was coming off injury. Warriors get off to a poor start, and there's no guarantee we win 50 games or make the playoffs.

I do agree that Houston without Harden would be in trouble. I also think he deserves MVP.

And I think Curry wins MVP. Better team record, more likable, and slightly more promoted in the media (than Harden). I bet it will be close though.
