View Full Version : Lebron/Kobe could be the last players to enter top 10.....

Its not just another Lebron/Kobe thread, hear me out.... mostly you haters...

This just hit me, as much as you/we hate Kobe or Lebron, you need to be aware of something very quick before its to late for you to learn to have any appreciation for them at all eventually...... and that is they may very well be the last guys you/we see enter the top 10 rankings in a very long time, especially Lebron since well he most likely will retire later than Kobe & he is nowhere done yet....

Think about this, the top 10 as it is now with Duncan/Shaq/Kobe entering there and most recently Lebron entering there is now STACKED like never before.... for another player to come along with top 10 potential is extremly slim (meaning a guy better and/or just as good as any of those 10 guys) and for another player to come along and actually outbetter one of those 10 guys anytime soon is much more slim, i think its actually so slim that i wouldnt be surprised if those would be the absolute last guys to enter top 10.... in 50 years or something....

LET THAT SINK IN...........

Just stop the damn hate.... start hating after Kobe retired and then Lebron retired or something, not only will you maybe not see another top 10 player again but certianly will you not see another player as unique... You will only be seeing Curry's, Westbrook's, Harden's, Rose's, Griffin's and so on from now on.... all great players we will be having fun with watching.... but none with top 10 talent/skill/potential of actually ending up top 10 all-time.......

Dont hate, appreciate, what may be the last breed of a top 10 all-time player you maybe will ever see in your life.....

To you Kobe stans or Lebron stans.... stop going against eachother, YOU WON, YOU BOTH WON....... If you must hate then at least gather up instead and hate/chuckle together at the SGs/SFs you will be seeing from now on....... because damn sure you wont be seeing another Kobe or Lebron again.....

Right now I really can't see no one in the league with potential except for Durant and Brow.
But 50 years you're reaching, you can't predict the talent that will appear that far.

A top 10 talent has been coming around every 8 years or so since Magic/Bird so why would it just stop? I think what's happening is you're seeing two players from your childhood nearing or at their end and this is just too much to handle. 50 years until a top 10 talent emerges? Durant was well on his way to that level of player and probably still is. Then who knows. Generational players will come and always do. Hell, we might be looking at one right now in Davis.

I guess I'm the only one who likes what happened to this thread. It's like a little intervention. The guy knows he has a problem, I've seen him admit it before. This will only help him.

As far as OP, you may be right, but there is just no way to predict the future. In 1995, we didn't know if Jordan would ever play again. The rules were different then, and they will surely change again. This fall, we may see stories about a high school freshman prodigy who will go on to win seven championships and surpass MJ as the greatest basketball player of all time.

But whether or not you're right, I think the Kobe/LeBron stan pissing match is losing its appeal as Kobe faces his career's end. I think we will see players of their caliber before too long, but what we will probably NEVER see again in basketball is the overlapping of two all-time great careers who were both so polarizing, and whose approaches to the game so perfectly represented opposite approaches to super-stardom.

Not sure I agree with this. I can easily see Kevin Durant surpassing Larry Bird if he wasn't such a beta. Then you have guys that just came into the league like Andrew Wiggins who has nearly all of the important skills down packed and comes naturally... post scoring, perimeter defense, ability to draw contact.. looking like UNC MJ already with an additional 2 inches. I can easily see him entering the top 10 list if things pan out the way it should be.

To me, Kobe and LeBron are top 5 All-Time without question. Players in danger of exiting the top 10/ who are inferior to LeBron / Kobe as players/careers are:

10. Hakeem Olajuwon - 2 rings
9. Magic Johnson - no defense, stacked squad, lacked goat scoring ability, gutter era
8. Larry Bird - no defense, short longevity, stacked squad for his entire career yet only won 3 rings, gutter era
7. Wilt Chamberlain - gutter era, woat drop-off from regular season to playoffs and finals
8. Tim Duncan - not aesthetically pleasing, no back to back rings, no signature move or play, not the best player of his era

I'd say only safe players for the next 40 years will be:

1. Michael Jordan
2. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
3. LeBron James
4. Kobe Bryant
5. Shaquille O'Neal

Contender for the worst post of all time

I think both of them are top 10, I think both of them are better then Bird as well.

LeBron is slightly underrated, and there is a big spelling mistake for #4, but otherwise good list

lol people try too hard to search for the next best thing. I bet you anything the next best thing will be a player who was 2nd round picked prolli phillipino for something cool like that. and just tears the league a new butthole!!!

Oh pls, there is so much ****ing talent out there right now, AND COMING... as far as that top 10 level, we have Durant and Davis, both good enough to make it there one day, AND MORE PLAYERS COMING...

Well first of all i have Kobe 11th all time, Lebron came in and kicked him out.

But yeah i mean i don't see anyone in the league cracking top 10 anytime within the next 20 years or so. KD had small chance before his injury, but after it i think his chances are basically 0. As for Davis yeah he has the potential but he doesn't seem like he'll have a durable enough of a career.

Lebron had super stacked teams
Yeah not really dude. Did you even watch the heat in the playoffs from 2012-2014 or just look at the names on the roster. In 2012 Bosh missed half the playoffs and Wade was banged up(still was solid). In 2013 both Wade and Bosh were trash in the playoffs. in 2014 nobody but Lbj showed up in the finals.

This.

OP just made one of the stupidest and most child-like posts in the history of ISHs - congrats :applause:.
