1995 game 1 vs Shaq's Magic. It would be the last time he'd wear #45, agreeing to pay a $25k fine to switch back to #23 for the next game.
In game 6, the Bulls were up 8 with 3.24 to play. Michael got a steal and then passed the ball in the air instead of taking the shot, which resulted in an Armstrong miss. Shaq knocks down a hook to get things going. Anderson drains a 3 to close it to within 3. Jordan with the ball but can't do anything with it. Shaw sinks 2 FTs to be down by 1. Jordan goes into hero mode. He does his trademarked spin and throws up a 12ft airball. Anderson nails a 20fter for the lead. Jordan gets the ball again. He goes up, he passes to Longley who fails. They foul Scott who hits 1 to put the Magic up 104-102. Jordan has the ball again. He drives, he fakes right, he goes up left, and he passes the ball to 3 Magic defenders. Penny hits 2 FTs, Shaq gets a dunk and down 6, the bulls don't even bother trying for the last 6 seconds.

i remember that series - that's the only series where fans didn't have that EXPECTATION of him saving the day.
he had just come back like 20 games prior after spending a year and a half in batting cages - it just seemed too good to be true that he could go right back to his normal standard of dominating the playoffs more than anyone else ever has...
fans were like - if he DOES pull this off, than he really IS god in basketball shoes.. but something was a little off, and fans felt it and anticipated it.

we fans figured 36/6/8 on 53/41/85 over 3 Finals meant MJ could do anything.
we were like "why can't he go play baseball for 1.5 years, come back cold turkey for the last 17 games, and immediately win another ring in GOAT fashion like he did before?"
of course, our faith in his invincibility was restored the very next season when he won everything and completed the process of turning an ordinary 2nd round exit team, into the greatest team of all time.

indeed - today's smarter offensive sets create spacing, which previous eras didn't have, even though spacing makes all facets of offense easier.
coaches in previous eras were actually quite dumb.. they made it so much harder for their players on offense by not using floor-spacing strategy or shooting many 3-pointers.
instead, they foolishly positioned players close to the rim, which activated the legal paint-camping provision stipulated in Rule 2b (http://nbahoopsonline.com/History/Leagues/NBA/Rules/Fouls.html) of the Illegal Defense Guidelines - this rule allowed defenders to paint-camp with no time restriction if their man was in the paint already, or within 3 feet of either side.

So a Magic Johnson esque game with 8 points 9 rebounds and 7 assists is the worst game you could find? A near- triple double.
LeBron didnt have his shot falling so he decided to orchastrate the Heat's offense perfectly, and got the shooters open.
The funny thing is that they would have still won if Wade didnt blatantly sabotage the game with missing the key FT to tie with 30 seconds left and flat out failing to catch the inbound pass with 5 seconds left to tie the game. :facepalm

Yeah, I'd say a career 28 ppg scorer scoring 8 points in a 3 point loss in a crucial Finals game that would have put his team in a commanding 3-1 series lead and basically clinched the championship is a pretty terrible game. 8/9/7 might be good for 2011 Jason Kidd though :lol

If someone says LeBron didn't play bad in the 2011 Finals, they're either trolling super hard or they're just really stupid. In dubeta's case it's both.
