View Full Version : If LeBron played his entire career in the Western Conference..

How does it change his career?

2007: Cleveland loses in the 1st round against San Antonio
2011: Miami loses to Dallas in the 2nd round
2012: Miami loses to OKC or SA, they wouldn't have Bosh(he was injured) which they had for the Finals
2013: Miami might win the title, but they would have had to go through Memphis & SA in the 2nd/3rd round. Most people believe the Spurs were the best team in 2013 and not Miami, who knows how that plays out if it's not in the Finals.
2014: They lose to the Spurs in the 2nd round

So he would have at most 1 Finals appearance. Just goes to show how much the weak Eastern Conference has helped LeBron James.

If he was in the Western Conference, he definitely wouldn't have 2 championships right now. In LeBron's career, he's never lost in the 1st round. That would've been different had he been in the West. He also wouldn't have as many finals appearances. Obviously, the West has a lot more depth than the East, so LeBron's whole path would've been extremely tough.

Might make the finals one year if teams get injured or something and he plays a shtty East team like most of his playoff career. The West postMJ has just been alot better than the Least. Offensively by a massive margin but defensively theyve been statistically better too

He wouldve joined the Spurs and won 7 straight fmvps

3-4 rings by now and MUCH better stats since the Western Conference has worse defensive teams.

Therefore would be a top 3 GOAT by now.

Playoff stats overall:

28/8/6 on .578 TS%

Now look up the East vs West in terms of defensive impact the last decade or so, and show lebrons career stats vs eastern and western teams.

A 5 series sample, in which 3 of those series LeBron was surrounded by garbage players, doesnt tell us anything.

You mean like the 2011 NBA Finals? With near peak Wade and prime Bosh?

Yup near peak Wade who did nothing in Game 2, threw away Game 4 with the missed clutch FT and inbound pass turnover, left the game early in game 5, and came up small in Game 6 :facepalm

Btw you still didnt specify which team exactly we are adding LeBron to in the West.

For his career, not hand picked games where the entire defensive pressure was on LeBron :oldlol:

I stated that Cleveland and Miami would be transplanted into the Western Conference, learn to read idiot. And ya, Wade was so much garbage in those finals. How dare he only average 27/7/6 on 55% shooting. LeBron's career stats are 27/7/7 on 50% shooting, I guess his entire career is trash.

30 odd games are handpicked?

You're the one who uses Kobe's Finals games to show how ineffective he is against the East.

You thought Bran's Finals stats were much better than that and now you're backtracking.

No he hasn't, his stats are equal against both conferences. While his stats are far worse vs the top 4 teams in the West each season. When LeBron faces elite teams, which are generally only found in the West outside of the team he has been on in the East, his performance falls off markedly.

Only time LeBron ever lost a Finals as a 1st option was to a vastly superior team that no other great would have won instead.

Problem?

What team are we moving to the East from the West? Has to be a playoff side, maybe the Spurs?

But really, transplanting the Cavs/Heat to the West, and LeBron ends up with 1 final appearance, and 1 ring. Which, hey, is just one less ring than he has now.

Lebron wasted 7 years of his prime playing on an average team. He rightfully deserved a good supporting casts in 2010. He's always been a great player.
