I haven't played a baseball game seriously in so long. My Favorite was a snes game that I can't even remember...I just remember my younger brother and I making our own teams and playing through full seasons and really enjoying the drama of it. First, there's the matter of the CPU cores. Without getting into technicalities, AMD's Jaguar architecture is the impending successor to the "Bobcat" architecture found in the company's current low-power APUs, and it is not especially beefy. Then there's the GPU. The specs don't line up with any of AMD's Radeon HD 7000-series graphics cards, and we can't be sure just how custom the semi-custom GPU actually is. Nonetheless, 1.84 teraflops of performance puts the GPU just ahead of the Radeon HD 7850 and well under the Radeon 7870. That also holds true if you assume the PlayStation 4 GPU's 18 compute units sport a build similar to the GCN architecture used to build AMD's Radeon HD 7000-series graphics cards.

The Radeon HD 7850 is nothing to sneeze at. Indeed, if you're looking for a midrange video card, it's a stellar option. But it's still just a midrange card, not a graphical trail blazer—and yet it will form the backbone of the PlayStation 4's gaming chops for years to come.

Overall, if you compare its hardware to what's available in today's PC landscape, the PlayStation 4 is basically powered by a low-end CPU and a midrange GPU. It even packs a mechanical hard drive in an age when many PC gamers have moved on to lightning-quick solid-state drives.

Bough an Xbox 360, finished the game and sold it :confusedshrug: Game developers prefer consoles due to the much lower piracy rates of consoles games. Objectively desktops are much better for gaming and the developers decision is purely based on a financial point of view. Not to mention that rockstar had to implement an auto aim system for GTA IV and GTA V, because controllers feel numb and totally suck for FPS and 3rd person shooters. Just make it easy for the dumb consumers :oldlol:

It's a low end CPU and a mid range GPU with a highly competitive price point and dedicated games development. I like gaming on PC too, but consoles do create an awesome environment for games development.

I mean look at this thread. Playstation has been getting great baseball games every year for a decade now. A decent 3d baseball game for PC hasn't been released, ever. So if you like to play a baseball game, thank dedicated console development teams for making it happen.

PC's run at much higher resolutions, if you scale them down to console level they would murder any game... you have graphic cards capable of 4k gaming right now.

PCs have always had better graphics but that has never stopped me from gaming on consoles. 90% of my favorite game franchises aren't even available on PC.

"Murder" is quite the stretch as well. For a pc that significantly outperforms a ps4 you'll pay a lot more than $400

You haven't convinced me at all. I used to play diablo 2 and cs1.6 when I was younger and I have been playing computer games all my life going all the way back to prince of persia on floppy disk and commander keen, jazz jackrabbit etc. I STILL prefer consoles.
