We would see so many threads made by trolls. The point of a forum is to discuss peoples POV, even in troll threads. Often times there's disagreement on this board - i'd rather see that myself and give opinion rather than one sided responses because of a feature you want.

I'd make my own thread and delete any post made in it other than me. It would essentially look like that Freshest Thread Ever where it is pretty much just the OP talking to himself.
