Ability standpoint, he easily is... but there's a thing with roles, play is circumstantial, Kawhi on this team, in this system, won't produce the max stats he could elsewhere (think 20+/9/4 on 48% with DPOTY defense).

I think this is the year he's taken the step to Superstar level. Top 10 no doubt.

The fact that only two players won MVP in that span doesn't make your statement that potent, and you seem to have forgotten how elite Derrick Rose was in his day. He was on the cusp of being this transcendent PG that we've never seen, and would eventually lead Chicago back to the promise land.
