1.7 fouls and 3.4 steals per 36 for a guy with elite man on man defense

Per 36 over a small sample size is pretty useless.

Im not a fan of it in general though.

He's been a scoring binge (for Spurs standards) these past few games though.

I used per 36 because his raw stats don't do him justice. The spurs have been blowing out teams and letting him rest 2nd half

Last 3 games:
26 pts in 24 mins vs. okc
26 pts in 24 mins vs. gsw
20 pts in 22 min vs. den

Pretty damn good for a "system player" who "can't score 20 ppg with the green light"

TLP is an idiot for thinking he can't drop 20PPG with the green light

Spurs system didn't make Kawhi, it holds him back. He's a beast.

I'm now a fan of Kiwi. A sf who regularly posts up and an elite defender. *jizz

He's getting more and more post-up plays called for him though, especially when he's being guarded by smaller players. He even gets double teamed sometimes, that's how good he's getting.

I was shocked that a finals MVP's career high is 26 points...

Spurs are gonna take it to another level in the postseason again, led by Kawhi (who is quickly becoming one of the best players in the league). Spurs and Warriors are the only real contenders in my eyes.

I disagree, it might hold back the basic stats like PPG or RPG, but it enhances the other stats and efficiencies. I also don't think a raw player like Kawhi develops the same way on another team, the Spurs have shown repeatedly for almost two decades that they know how to grow talent. It's not all clever drafting, it's having a good environment and great personnel.

I totally agree with this sentiment, the system also allows Kawhi to give 100 percent on offense and defense during the time in which he is playing. This is actually one of the reasons he's so effective and the system in general works so well.
