Not really a new thing, but a very interesting anecdote, which I thought some of you would appreciate.

If some would like me to provide cliffs, I'm more than willing to summarise some of the most interesting parts.

Everybody knew somebody growing up that was really good at basketball, but overemotional to the point of it interfering with their ability. Every time he's fouled, he thinks someone is trying to hurt him. Every time he's called for a foul, he thinks the ref is racist and out to get him. Every time he's criticized, he thinks the coach is a dumbass and has no idea what they're talking about. That's Rajon Rondo, he just happened to make it to the NBA instead of flaming out his SR of high school and turning to drugs.

I agree, one of the best pieces on ESPN at the moment.

"He got all excited afterward. I told him to learn how to make a shot."

Excellent read.
I remember when Houston fans wanted Rondo so bad, but he would be such a terrible fit for the Rockets :oldlol:

Maybe explains why Garnett walked back to the locker room shortly after Rondo did (after losing game 7) about 10-15 seconds before the final buzzer.
Garnett prob. making sure Rondo didn't do anything stupid, instead of both being looked at as a salty bitches after losing.

You'd think this kind of person would be great at shooting. The fact that he still can't shoot seems to somewhat contradict the notion that he's that smart.

did you read the article? this has nothing to do with skill on the court, it's about how his memory and why he clashes with authority.

I'm not talking about skill on the court. I'm saying with the type of person the article portrays him as, he is should have been great at shooting. It's a learnable skill for anyone.

So Einstein should be a 99% free throw shooter? Who says there is any relationship between being smart and shooting a basketball?

I agree. The article mentions him making 49/50 FT's in practice, talks about how smart he is and how he's always trying to prove he's the best.
Doesn't seem like a guy who would be rattled by the big stage so it doesn't make a lot of sense that he's out there shooting 35% FT.
