Clutch as in what? If your team already has a lead before you take the shot, it has much less of a "clutch" factor than a go ahead or game winning basket late in the game.

If it's the shot I think you're referring to, then you are literally referencing a shot that only reinforces what I was saying. LeBron is a god at hitting late game shots whenever his team is already up a possession or two.

You mean like the 3 in game 6 of the '13 Finals? The 16 points in the 4th Q of the same game?

Oh, and the game was tied with ~2:30 left when LeBron hit that 3 to give Miami a pt lead. Durchoke took 1 shot in the final 4 minutes of that game. He took a total of 3 shots in the 4th Q. A very close and extremely important Game 4. Beta gonna beta.

i'd say once you reach your mid-20's, you won't think that's alpha anymore - you'll see the whole push-down thing as insecurity to prove something, trying too hard, whatever you want to call it.

a real alpha celebration would've been exactly what he did, WITHOUT the gay push-down theatrics.. just the "get outta here" verbage, the hand-signaling get out, and the sneer - THAT'S alpha - unfortunately for lebron, he had to do the push-down too, which reveals his severe beta.

btw, the reason lebron was so excited about that shot is because something felt different about it - indeed, it was the ONLY contested shot he took the entire game... realtalk.. check the highlights.

This was game five (back when the first round was just a five game series). The series on the line. Cleveland up one. Three seconds left. If Mike misses, he goes home after the first round for the fourth consecutive season. If he hits it, they advance to the second round. He had never won a playoff series before. Like it or not... LeBron has never even taken, let alone made, a shot that big.

Kyrie did all the work that game...and James hits a 3 when they already have the game in hand...then does this. Wow. That leadership.

:facepalm

This was game five (back when the first round was just a five game series). The series on the line. Cleveland up one. Three seconds left. If Mike misses, he goes home after the first round for the fourth consecutive season. If he hits it, they advance to the second round. He had never won a playoff series before. Like it or not... LeBron has never even taken, let alone made, a shot that big.
Let's not act like getting out of the 1st round on the 4th try is some great achievement. We are not in a special school

1 possession, 2 pt game, if Lebron misses Bucks can tie or take the lead, Lebron makes that 3 the game is over or you play the free throw game.

Please watch more basketball.

Lebron is cut from the same cloth as guys like Tyga, The Game, 50 cent, Kanye West, Big Sean, Drake, Macklemore, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa etc...

Pure fakkitness without being a real fakkit. What's worse than that?

Sure about that one?

I agree that LeBron's "push-down" ritual is a little grating, but honestly that's kind of the point.

He does that gesture whenever he hits a game-clinching shot in an OPPOSING arena. It is considered the "opposite" of "raising the roof" as he is signaling to the crowd that their boys have lost, and their excitement is drained. If it's grating, it's grating to the opposing fans. He knows people think it's corny, but he doesn't care, he does it anyway. It is, by nature, an alpha move.

3ball had it right tho. If he just did the "get out of here" after the shot instead of the celebration, that would have been nice.

Nah I mean I agree with that. It is pretty corny. I just also have a certain level of respect for the fact that he does it to rub it in the faces of the opposing fans. They know it's coming, and they can't stand it.

You know he probably practiced the push down after his emo-mirror-twitter-James-Harden debacle.

There has truly NEVER been an iconic athlete as easy to roast as LeBron James. The guy just has a fantastic knack for embarrassing the shit out of himself.

Its just his signature thing he does occasionally when hitting a big basket (minus the GTFOH part) and its cool :confusedshrug: unlike this guy who does this cringeworthy thing after literally every random basket:
