Not tryna hate, but where the **** is the defense at? No joke, I saw like 5 or 6 possessions in that highlight with no help defense and/or box outs.
Like watching an open-gym dunk contest. :oldlol:

Its so funny because Lebron is that good he can toy with teams in the regular season barely giving any effort
They criticize him for not playing off ball more yet thats exactly what he did in the finals last year and also in 2011

other than the 3-point shot at the end, can someone show me where lebron took a contested shot in this game?
virtually all of lebron's FG... wide the **** open... wide open lanes, spacing - it's amazing.
look at lebron at the 2:29 mark - that's what happens when big men come out of the paint to shade guards on the perimeter - huge disadvantage for bigs to guard ballhandlers on the perimeter, than to paint-camp and contest them in the paint.
look at kevin love at the 3:06 mark, or literally ANY play from the highlights... :facepalm
it's funny because while i can point to at least 100 plays from every game that show wide open paints, i don't think i've EVER seen anyone point to a play from previous eras and be like "look how wide open the paint was back then".. no one ever posts this, because it doesn't exist.

You are showing incredibly low IQ by posting this. Seriously
You realize that what makes LeBron so good is being able to read the defense and making the right decision? Half of those plays, he is double teamed, and ultimately finds the right pass to make. It's wiser than taking a contested shot and gets teammates involved. This is why most teams don't double LeBron. I figured you would know this after watching the NBA for so long. Not to mention half of those buckets he had were indefensible. They were created by turnovers or simply out-hustling the other team on the boards. Why in the world would you a player to only take contested jumpers? If the defense makes a mistake, you are supposed to take advantage of it. Hell there was one play where he did split 3 defenders and get a finger roll

Are you really advocating a player should take contested shots?
Its called good offense kid, it allows you take wide-open shots. Of course the defense is terrible, but you still have to go out there and exploit it, is it Lebron's fault? No. Stop acting like a little bitch and try posting something positive.

i never said lebron should take contested shots if he doesn't have to - but that's the whole point - in today's spaced-out game, he doesn't have to take contested shots... :confusedshrug:
but in previous eras, lebron would never be able to go an entire game and take only 1 contested shot - that's impossible with no spacing.
that seems to be something you have a hard time understanding - the spacing makes it so teams don't have to settle for contested shots anymore.
today's spaced out game makes it easier for the offense and harder for the defense than ever before... my god.. you saw the highlights - just wide open space everywhere.. no way the defense can cover it all - go rewatch those highlights - that's the easiest offensive environment the NBA has ever had - the guys don't even look like they're playing hard.

wow you guys are dumb as ****.
my point is that today's spaced-out game ENABLES lebron to not have to take contested shots - my point is simply that he has it much easier than offensive players in previous eras, who didn't have spacing and had to take far more contested shots.
obviously, if lebron can get away with never taking contested shots, he should - and fortunately, today's game has spacing, so he can do just that.
but in previous eras when there was no spacing, he would never get to go an entire game and take only 1 contested shot... i guess that's why it was such a big deal for him and he celebrated like that - it was his first contested shot of the whole game.
you guys call me crazy for saying that spacing makes all aspects of offense easier?... i'm stating common knowledge - everyone knows offense is much easier WITH spacing than without - are you disagreeing with this?... :wtf:

Bullshit again.
Those shots are uncontested because LeBron and Kyrie are disrupting the defense so much, not because of a "weak era" defensively. The wise thing to do in the NBA is only take contested shots late in the clock because you have to. LeBron doesn't tune out his teammates, so he's going to find open looks for them, or get his own open looks through PnR or playing off-ball. And again, half of these open looks are caused by good defensive steals leading to fast breaks, or simply outhustling the opponents on the boards. Watch the highlights agian.

it's hilarious, because all i asked for was that you show me ONE contested shot other than that 3-pointer, and you can't do it.. instead:
wide open paint in halfcourt allowing a wide open lebron dunk at 40 second mark:

wide open paint in halfcourt allowing a wide open lebron dunk at 46 second mark:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKMVeddXt9E&t=0m45s
wide open paint due to bigs coming away from rim to shade ballhandler on perimeter, allowing wide open lebron layup at 2:29 mark:

I already explained why his shots were wide open. Is your reading comprehension that low? Getting wide open looks is a good thing.
And of course you ignore the fact that he had to split 3 defenders to get that wide open layup

lebron only gets those looks because of spacing - without spacing, he'd have it much tougher..
it's common knowledge that spacing makes offense easier - but keep looking delusional as hell by denying it.. it's a free country.. :confusedshrug:
there isn't one game in bird or jordan's career where they only took 1 contested shot.
And of course you ignore the fact that he had to split 3 defenders to get that wide open layup
i'm not ignoring it - it's just not material - all perimeter ballhandlers do that.. i.e. ramon sessions or any quicker, superior ballhandler would've also gotten in the paint there, and he'd have done it quicker and easier too.
but the reason lebron faced zero rim resistance is because today's spacing and defensive 3 seconds rule forces bigs to trade in their advantage of contesting ballhandlers in the paint (paint-camping), for a huge disadvantage of defending ballhandlers on the perimeter - bigs are forced to defend on the perimeter, which leaves the paint wide open.

you'd be amazed how many basketball questions can be answered by just looking to Jordan to see how he did it - to see what the optimal way is.. :pimp:
