Stop. BB is certainly better but it's not in some entirely different class. Peak Dexter is really fvcking good. They just shat the bed completely after season 4.

Thats the thing though

Dexter was very much a conflict driven story not character driven

With Vince the supporting characters would have been much more fleshed out and important to the overall arc

Not to mention Vince wouldn't be afraid to make big moves, Dexter was FULL of cop out moments that could have been compelling TV

And the only reason why Dexter stayed so relevant and people is because

Dexter the character is quality

IMO Dexter as an individual was way more interesting than Walter White

With Vince at the helm, and a clear direction and end game and character development arcs, we could have seen something great

Imagine Dexter going from a self-righteous vigilante killer to a psychopath slowing and slowly losing his edge, until he is nothing more than just a ruthless killer

I gotta agree with Millbuck here.

Breaking Bad is my all time favorite show, but I think season 1 Dexter is as good as some of the BB seasons. Seasons 1 2 and 4 were really good (3 was meh) but they lost the lead writers after season 4, and the show went downhill.

Dexter is my all time favorite character.

I'll admit that as a complete series, BB was consistently good while Dexter had a couple mediocre seasons.

But Dexter still gets the nod from me.

Most shocking moment I've ever witnessed too at the end of that season

Nothing has come close to ripping my heart out like that scene did

Rudy/Brian is definitely up there with Trinity IMO

Miguel could have been used better but when him and Dexter started playing games I thought Jimmy Smits did a great jon... That rooftop scene was memorable
