great on paper but then you have to fill the PF role, green isnt exactly elite but his skillset is almost impossible to replace...how many dpoy tier PF's are there that can guard 1-5 and stretch the opposing D w/ 3's?

Maybe if it was a few years ago. Lee is 31 and he has gone from a poor defender to literally one of the worst in the league. There is a reason why kerr hardly plays him

i was thinking this too, leonard is pretty big but I am not sold on him defending bigger 4's yet. I have seen Green hold his own vs zach randolph

Leonard and Green are both listed at 6'7" and 229lbs exactly :eek:

Draymond has more body mass in his butt/base/legs, e's got a "complete tweener" body type. He's better at defending true PFs and some smaller Cs and is a better playmaker/passer and rebounder than Leonard.

Kawhi is quicker, better scorer, much more SF body type (but can adjust to 4s), much better at guarding a guy like LeBron, much better at guarding PGs/SGs perimeter players, and he's got those giant hands and is a madman at steals.

Both have a nice 3pt shot, are amazing defenders at what they do, good at steals. Both are benefitting HUGELY in a system that is absolutely perfect for them and excellent coaching. Obviously Kawhi is the superior player there's no debate due to his scoring ability and the FMVP (not totally warranted, but at the end of the day it went to him) but Draymond is a REALLY good fit for the Warriors, and Kawhi is a fantastic fit for the Spurs.

Let's just say Kawhi wasn't an RFA and it was possible the Warriors could sign him.

If you're the Warriors FO, would you go for Kawhi still or just give Green the max to show loyalty? It would be a gamble to get Green after offering the max to Kawhi first. Green might feel disrespected/betrayed if you offer Kawhi the max first over him.
