requirements* must have played in your prime post 21st century.

shaq
lebron
kobe
duncan

^^ obviously these are the unanimous 4, in any order you want.

how about 5-8 though?
that leaves players like dirk, garnett, iverson, wade, howard, yao, webber, durant, & kidd...on the table.

select the next 4 to makeup the elite 8

Kobe does not belong in the same breath as shaq, lebron duncan.

Sure he may have the accomplishments and accolades, but from an impact POV, he is a tier below those three. Every stat, advanced stat, eye test basically point to this.

Yeah he does stats, accomplishments, franchise records, championships, eye test, etc. Kobe has proven time and time again he has done it all and proven though already, he's arguebley had the best career post MJ.

Not that serious or important. Plus it's a job where I make $. I don't need to prove anything to loser ISH stalkers such as yourself.

And my elite 8 list is totally erroneous to you because Dirk is the lone one who didn't make the cut? Think about that stupidity for a second.

MVP winners Rose, Nash, Curry / Harden / Westbrook didn't make it either. Why? They weren't better than any of those other guys at their peak in more competitive seasons amongst other all-time greats.

Plus Dirk had one of the weakest MVP seasons in existence, with the most embarrassing post season of any of the suspect MVP award winners.

Except I didn't, and there is no reason I'd have to prove where I work by day or night to a bunch of anonymous children, or grown losers on a basketball message board such as mehyaM24 ... Durant / Wade / Iverson / KG's peak season or seasons are all higher than Dirk. KD / Iverson ran into tougher competition in the Finals.

Dirk won a ring because the co best player on the other team completely quit in a series where they were the obvious favorites. Forgive me if I don't find Dirk's 2011 to be an overrated run, and Finals on ISH.

Also faced a broken down, Gasol-less defending champion Laker team, with a hobbled Kobe.

Big deal.

In the Finals the Heat blew a huge lead in game 2. And LeBron was ghost status the rest of the series, Where's Waldo like in winnable 4th quarters as well. Worst performance from a superstar on the big stage, ever. Left Wade dragging the team solo.

Got locked up by old Marion, Kidd, and 5'6 JJ Barrea. And torched by Jason Terry.

It has to be KG,Wade,Dirk,Durant

the first three are absolute locks,Wade has won multiple championships and has had the best finals performance of the 21st century, Dirk and KG have one each and have been awarded MVPs. Durant gets the nod ahead of Nash and A.I who would have been next on my list, because accomplishment wise he is already on par with those 2 has a finals appearance and an MVP and even apart from that he's simply the only guy who has performed at roughly that level LeBron and Kobe have which i don't think A.I and Nash ever did, especially since he is absolutely elite on both ends of the court.

I'm liking what I'm seeing here for the most part.

I think my next 4, in no specific order, would be:

Dirk
KG
Wade
Iverson/Durant, tough pick

If I had to order them:

Duncan
Shaq
LeBron/Kobe (Kobe is more accomplished but LeBron is the better player imo, and by the end of LeBron's career he'll have clinched a spot above Kobe)
Kobe/LeBron
KG
Wade/Dirk
Dirk/Wade
Iverson/Durant

It's tough to sort them outside of separating them into top 4/bottom 4, I'm far from certain about the order of the bottom 4.

Wade

Actually, now that I think about it top 8 makes sense, with KD.

KD right now would be 8th, but who knows, he could make it all the way behind Shaq IMO.

It's odd how obsessed you are with me, or my perception on here. Insidious ...

Notice how the only ones infactuated with calling me "coach" as if it's some sort of shot are: I'm Still Ballin, mehyaM24, and the random 2009 poster who never posts who PMed me (Insidious6) asking my personal name and info and how it related to IL Speed basketball program.

Oh, they are all obvious LeBron stans, trolls, or alts.

Then same guy made up some story how he asked a coach within the program if he knew one of the other coaches if they posted on a message board called Insidehoops? Do you know how delusional, un-believable and creepy that sounds?

Oh, same said poster also made up names and nicknames to sound knowledgable and didn't once name the program director who hired me and asked me to coach his 9th and 10th grade teams personally ...

dirk defined clutch and throughout that playoff run, attempted to redefine it. he srsly nailed just about every big shot in that playoff run, no matter how sick he was, no matter what players were on the floor and no matter what obstacles were placed in front of him.

dirk was on his hakeem tip - we thought of him as a notorious choker, a player that could not win the big game, and that wasn't a team player.

but after those finals, it was safe to say we could place him with some of the GOATS in most valuable playoff runs.
