Say you are told to fill the SG spot for a team that has made it to the finals but lost their starting 2 guard. You dont know who else is on the team, just that they need a starting sg. You can pick Kobe or Ginobili.
Who you got?
I got Gino all the way

Kobe.
My friend. Take a good, long look in the mirror.
Are you lying to yourself?
Only you can know. You dont have to answer here in front of everyone. But I want you to look in that mirror and ask yourself that question. Give an honest answer. You owe it to yourself.

You can game plan for Kobe. But Ginobili is just a mad scientist

06 Wade
This wasnt an option for this thread, however I will concede that 06 Wade was better than any finals Kobe.

Being a LeBron fan and Manu helped hand the Heat the 2013 championship on a silver turnover platter?

Manu sure was playing for Heat during 2013 NBA Finals. What a performance that was. :oldlol:

Kobe is a two time fmvp and was capable oc scoring 81 points in his prime. Who the heck is manu Compared to that.

The only reason Manu gets a look is if this Kobe's ego is going to destroy an already championship caliber team. Interesting question as Manu is a great all-round player that would make any team better with almost any role he's given.
I still go with Kobe. I am assuming prime Kobe is a somewhat mature Kobe of the 2nd threepeat.

2013 Manu was not prime Manu.
Prime Manu was effective, clutch, laden with intangibles, and actually played good defense.
This is why it would be a huge gamble to take Kobe in a finals series. For a randomly generated playoff team, maybe they squeeked into the playoffs without a real offensive threat and they can maybe win a series if they get an iso chucker like kobe to add some offense.
A team that has made the finals doesnt need someone to try and be a hero and go 6-24 and nearly throw the series away. Or gun for finals mvp while getting lit up by richard hamilton and cost his team the series.
Ginobili is a team player and a much better defender than kobe "i never take charges" bryant. Oh, and also manu's clutch gene is dominant - kobe's is recessive.
So in summation, the answer to the thread is Manu and it's not even remotely close in any conceivable way.
Im so nba'd out

Really? It was really hard to figure out he was playing at all either way.

Don't confuse Kobe for Lebron. Non-factor and disappearing act in 2011 and again in 2014 :oldlol:

Nobody in history faced the quality of Finals defenses prime Kobe faced. It's not even remotely close.
2001--Sixers were #5 in DRTG, and #1 after the trade for Mutombo
2002-#1 ranked defense
2004--#1 ranked defense. -8.4 relative to league average (to put that into perspective, the #1 defense now is the Warriors at -6). -11.5 after the Rasheed Wallace trade. Easily the GOAT defense.
2008--#1 ranked defense. -8.5 relative to league. Again, this is a top 5 mark in modern NBA history. GOAT level defense.
2009--#1 ranked defense. -6.4 relative to league average. Top 25 mark in history.
2010--#2 ranked defense. 2010 Celtics had the best defense rating in history through the first three rounds of the post-season.
This is why I laugh when morons say Bryant was a poor Finals performer. His defensive comp was light years ahead of anybody else.
