View Full Version : Spoelstra on collapse against Bulls: We lost because we didn't get defensive stops

It's interesting because the team scored only 8 points during the 3rd quarter, they stopped moving the ball and played crazy hero ball to open the quarter shooting 0 for 9 and let the Bulls get back in the game, and our genius coach thinks defense was the problem?

The Bulls only scored 89 points which is far lower than their average, Miami failed to even score 80 points, and yes defense was the problem.

No, they lost because they couldn't score in the 2nd half. This comment just shows how Spo lacks in being a coach when he can't even get why they lost right.

It's just a cliche to say it's all about defense. That's what head coaches are trained to do.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuut 8 points in a quarter.
It ain't defense, bro....I mean, spo:roll: ....see what I did there? His name is SPOelstra...

Spo and Brooks say the exact same shit...
"WE JUST NEED TO GET STOPS!"
"STAY THE COURSE"
"JUST PLAY HARD GUYS"
"WE NEED TO PLAY WITH MORE ENERGY"

F*ck your team. As of now Miami is 10th from the bottom. That means you keep your pick. Sixers need it. F*cking win already. How you shit the bed like that. Sad

Spo is Riley's pet coach, he won't pull the trigger unless they have more underachieving or losing seasons.

He says this all the time. Earlier in the year when we lost to Dallas and went scoreless for 20 minutes in the second 1/2 he blamed defense.
We have one of the slowest pace offenses in NBA, prior to the Big Three, we had one of the slowest pace offenses in the NBA.
Spo is not some good defensive coach, he just slows the game down so that the opponent can have less possessions.

Which is crazy because he fired Stan Van Gundy, who was also a pet, but was a good coach, simply because we didn't win the title the year before with a banged up Shaq and Wade against the Pistons. That was the last time that a Miami coach actually knew who to utilize player's talents.

Heat clearly needs scoring, not just tonight but the whole season it was a problem.
Of course with Bosh being out made it worse but they'll need to draft or sign some guys who can score off of the bench.

I agree his post-game interview was not revealing but he opened up a bit about the offensive approach in the post-game conference. Though the results have been porous on offense.

He meant for the 2nd half. Chicago scored 33 in the 3rd quarter.
Yeah that's why they lost, Spo
Not like the team forgot how to score in the second half or anything
And he benched Beasley who was great in the first half

Spo isn't a great Coach. I feel like most other Coaches or one who knows how to use players would have this team in the Playoffs.

I think Shaq wanted him gone.
