Once Duncan retires (maybe this year) he needs to team up with Kawhi. Even if Pop retires too, they would be a sick tandem to reload with.

Ae you kidding me? Davis and Kawhi with Pop and those other guys would hold a death grip on the ****ing league for a decade... please no.

A contender? Yes. Spurs? No.

Preferably in the East to even shit out unless Silver fixes the conferences (gets rid of them).

Pop wont retire, and AD would be lethal in Spurs, even better team than they are now

This would be sick. If he cared bout winning it's the obvious choice.

He'll be a RFA in 2016...so there's probably no way he's going to the Spurs this decade.

Basically a 0% chance any big name FA signs with us anytime soon.

Duncan and Ginobli come off the books after the season is over and Kawhi, even though he WILL get the max, will only have a cap hold of a few million. Spurs can go and offer someone, say a Marc Gasol or LMA, the max and then still go over the cap to resign their own players (Kawhi and Green). Splittler, Gasol/LMA, Leonard, Green, and Parker along with all the role players like Diaw is still Championship material.

Plus, if Duncan or Ginobli come back for say the vet min so Duncan can go for 7 putting him one past MJ? Domination.

People still haven't caught on. The Spurs don't rebuild. They reload.

Davis will be a restricted free agent in 2016. The only way he's not back on the peli's for at least 4 seasons after that is if he takes the qualifying offer in 2016 (so he'd make about $7m) then he'd be an unrestricted free agent
No player due to get a max deal has EVER taken the qualifying offer instead.

Davis is a pelican until 2020 at least, barring a trade or major injury.

Pop will not be coaching long.

if durant goes to DC and Davis goes east somewhere then maybe the two conferences will be balance for once.

This is all great, and you are 100% right, but I'm saying no big name FA will want to come to San Antonio, no matter how good the team is.

Location and lifestyle means almost everything for FAs. :confusedshrug:

Why is this even two pages? By the time Davis becomes a UFA, Pop and Duncan will be long gone (probably Manu and Tony, too). Nobody will know how good the NBA will be in the 2020s. The Celtics and Brad Stevens may be the next big thing for all we know.

Zero chance unless spurs willing to give them a max.
