I play for the NFL, the NBA is way too random IMO. As far as NFL, it's usually pretty winnable. Go for the 50/50's though, playing the big tournaments are basically like playing the lottery.

How much do you make/lose on average?

I did some small change in the NFL (there's a thread on it on the NFL section). Made out. Then I played the NBA after the NFL season ended and lost every single cent. :oldlol: That's alright, I only put in like 20 or 25.

I dont understand the prize amounts. I clicked on "prizes" for a $10 entry fee for the NBA league for tonight. All it says is "1st-600: $20.00"

can someone help me understand this? I'm a dummy and I know it :)

It really depends. I follow the NFL pretty strongly, and fantasy I put in around 10 hours a week to studying matchups/players. I probably win my double up's around 65% of the time. A lot of people are really bad and just pick big name players, very reminiscent skill level of online poker in the early-mid 2000's.

The top 600 scores all double their money. So roughly half of the entrants will make back their entryX2. They also have big tournaments where you can win 200k, but the odds of that are basically 1 in 20,000. The double up's are MUCH better ROI.

NBA and MLB seem too random to me to rely on one-day fantasy "leagues." That mostly applies to baseball where even the best players can have a string of 0/4 and 1/4 from the plate days. The NBA seems like a pretty big craphshoot, too, to rely on players to be, well, reliable on a one-day basis. After the 5-7 "sure thing" players who almost always put up good to great raw numbers, even on an off night, it's just a big crap shoot, because a lot of NBA role players get their averages by scoring 15-20 a few games in a row and follow that up by scoring 5-10 points a few games in a row.

It can be hard but there is research you can do.. like looking at defense theyre facing ppp, matchups, see if they're in a slump or not etc. Like for example guys like lou Williams where they either go off or are in the negative and they often follow up a few nice games with bad ones and vice versa.. if you see lous been shooting like shit for a while and he's playing the Knicks play him lol

I'd imagine baseball is even more streaky with guys slumping or going off but I like that because that's where you can capitalize on preparing and looking shit up.. something most don't do thouroughly.

Ahhhh dfs: where you can actually put money on your delusional perceptions of players' talent. ISHers would be broke within a week.
