Celtics have Nets tiebreaker.
Celtics have Pacers tiebreaker.
Nets have Pacers tiebreaker.
Celtics 38-42 (2 games remaining)
Brooklyn 37-41 (2 games remaining)
Indiana 37-41 (2 games remaining)
If Celtics win 1 or both remaining games: 7 seed
If Celtics lose both games and either Brooklyn or Indiana win both games: Celtics get 8 seed
if Celtics lose both games and both Brooklyn and Indiana win both games: Celtics miss playoffs, Nets get 7 seed, Indiana gets 8 seed
If both Brooklyn and Indiana win both games: Brooklyn get 8 seed, Indiana misses playoffs

And all of them get swept in the first round of the playoffs.

You sound salty. You must be a fan of OKC or something. RIP

As a Pacers fan, I want to get into the playoffs, even if "we'd get swept". We dont have much of a chance of winning the conference, but it would be great to see the team in the Playoffs.

I wonder how many fans of these teams even give a shit about making it.
The Eastern Conference is an absolute joke. Atlanta-Cleveland ECF is the only real series where there is any entertainment value whatsoever.

Eh...for a team like the Pacers, I honestly don't think making the playoffs is all that big a deal...with one caveat: if PG can play 30ish min a game. I think making the postseason is a much bigger deal for teams like the Celtics or the Bucks--teams whose rosters comprise mostly of young talent without the experience of big games and coaches that need more reps in series situations where they have to play the chess match of adjustments from one game to the next.
A veteran team like the Pacers, with a ton of playoff experience that was already on the precipice of being a contender, what's really the point of putting more miles on a David West, Scola, etc. when you have virtually 0 shot of a deep run without a healthy PG? Missing the postseason would save the miles, and prob move them up like 3-4 spots in the draft.

Pacers can give hawks trouble. Beat them last year with D-league Hibbert.

I agree except the Pacer veterans are gonna feel demoralized going on vacation early. Every one of them went into the season expecting to be title contenders. To miss the playoffs might end their previous chemistry.

They would have the worst record of any playoff team. They would only drop one spot if they made the playoffs rather than missing
