View Full Version : Steph Curry sat out 18 fourth quarters this season.

Hey Yo

If all voters know this, is that a thing good or bad thing for Steph?

One could say he wasn't needed cause the great bench + few starters took care of the blow out.

or

He could have padded his stats more if he stayed in the game which means the MVP decision shouldn't be that hard?

Let's be real here, Lebron would've stayed in to pad stats.

Curry doesn't care about stats, only W's.

90 % of games are won in the 3 first quarters.

This.

Stats matter to the insecure betas a lot more than everyone else.

lol no. Warriors are a great team, but they're built around Curry. Take him away and the offense goes to shit.

If you can't see how much the offense relies on Curry then you're an idiot, should be banned, and have your hand slapped anytime you even think about touching a basketball.

Smh.

James Harden is the MVP of the league. It doesn't get any more clear than that.

It's just Harden homers grasping at straws. Without Curry this team would have started the season with Leandro Barbosa starting at PG. Livingston was hurt, and played like trash most of the season. Without a quick start, who knows what direction the season takes.

Borderline playoff team in the West without Curry. With Curry? 66 Wins and #1 in the West by more than 10 games.

You must have missed last nights game. Up 32 points when the bench took over in the 4th... won the game by 4. And that was against the Grizzlies bench, not their starters.

We have a deep roster, but it's a completely different game when Curry leaves the court. Livingston is a scrappy backup, but he can't shoot worth shit.

Yeah, the bench took over, not the whole team minus Curry, which is what this whole thing is about.

No doubt, but a lineup of:

George Hill
Thompson
Barnes
Green
Bogut

Speighs
Iggy
Lee
Holiday
Ezeli

Still makes the playoffs. Or are you trying to say that team wouldn't?

He's my vote for MVP cause it's hard to argue against the success of the Warriors. They've had far and away the best regular season and he's their best player. He makes their whole team elite. Like, super elite. But if you replaced Curry with Hill, that team still competes in the west. They wouldn't be elite, but they'd be competitive.

Curry putting up 25/8 on 50/50/90 with great defense since the all star break.

That depends. Is it a close game or a blowout? If it's a blowout, he is the best in those no pressure situations.

I don't if you realize, but scoring 25 PPG on 50/50/90 over a significant time span is completely unheard of. You know what else is unprecedented? Making 284 3's in one ****ing season.

Have some respect for the game.

Curry is another player that surpassed LeBron this year.

Durant did it a few years ago, Westbrook/Harden/Davis/Irving/Cousins all arguably passed him this year too.

It's weird because I kept waiting for LeBron to finally grow up and start dominating like he should... but the next thing you know his time has come and gone without ever reaching that level. He never reached the top of the ladder.

I'd post the picture of him winning his FMVPs, but that would be pointless.

Someone else can do it.

It is a good thing. It means he helped the team build a lead early and then rested rather than stat padded. A real MVP doesn't need to stat pad.

He is the MVP of the season, playing only 33 min per game doesn't mean he did not delivered when needed.

Its illogical to hold this against steph. you are literally holding his teams dominance against him.

His per game stats look even better with this.

Lebron is still the man in the league not by far btw, but Curry deservs more the regular season MVP. I put Curry ahead of Harden also.
Although he is playing less than Lebron, he had a career year so far and is in his prime, while LBJ stepped back a little comparing to previous seasons, missed a lot of games also - probably because of transition period with Cavs, or he just start exiting his prime, we will see in the playoffs.

Did you see the great bench against Memphis the other day? They almost gave up a 30 point lead in one quarter.
