Fvck yeah! Hope they both stay, gonna be insane Rubio setting up those 2 for years to come. Both have all star potential, gonna be game over for the league soon, especially if they get another star this draft.

I'd say false. Neither of them is big enough or plays big enough to be Toronto Tracy.

Wiggins is T-Mac 2.0, except without this:

Lavine and Marbury could not be more opposite when it comes to attitude.

Wiggins looks like the real deal. But lavine looks like a potential Gerald green-type role player.

:coleman: You mean, pull a TMac since that is who we're comparing them to. TMac could have teamed up Vince to be a formidable duo and brought Canada to it's knees, instead he wanted his own team. And losing in Orlando followed, after numerous injuries to Hill.

Lavine is putting up 21/6/6 on 48/34/86 so far this month. I'm not saying he's going to be that type of player for his career, but if a rookie can put that up for 7-8 games in a row, they at least have the potential to do that at some point in the future, especially given that when you watch him play, he displays a world of talent even in his bad games. What will determine how good he gets will be how his decision making on the court develops. To the thread title though, I doubt he quite gets to the level of Toronto Carter.
I actually see them as a less talented version of Westbrook and Durant. Wiggins won't be as good a scorer, and in all likelihood Lavine won't be as good a scorer as Westbrook, but they'll have a similar play style and dynamic I think.

Comparing them, in anyway, to Westbrook and Durant, is a joke.

I don't really see it so far. Wiggins loves the post and works primarily in the mid range and takes 3s only when wide open and a spot up. Wiggins is a guard/wing but plays more like a power forward. Durant is entirely different player. Westbrook loves to attack the rim at all times whereas Lavine is obsessed with his jumper.

Lavine is getting traded to the Knicks in the towns/okafor trade.

Lavine is also an aggressive attacker though, he just take a few more jumpers.
As for Wiggins, the way he plays right now is more a function of the plays Saunders calls than his playstyle. Earlier in the season when he wasn't having specific plays called for him he was shooting significantly more 3s and attacking from the outside with only the occasional post up. I think just with the way the current NBA is, you can't become a star wing without a good 3 pointer, and Wiggins will eventually become reliant on that part of his game.

Lavine's a scrub. This duo will end up more like LeBron/Larry Hughes than T-Mac/Carter.

Lavine needs to show some game first. He sucks hard right now. One of the worst players in the NBA. Carter and Mcgrady were ready.

I like the comparison, but their styles are a bit different. Their athleticism is what makes it comparable.

He's averaging 20/5/5 on 45% shooting over the last 10 games. He was always considered a raw. He's coming along very nice. Stop the hate.

Really? Wiggins certainly does, and LaVine will be no scrub.

I don't get the T-Mac comparisons for Wiggins. Maybe physically, but skill and style wise he really doesn't play like him at all. T-Mac was a much better ball handler, more natural and fluid perimeter scorer. Just a much more creative scorer off the dribble, whereas Wiggins is a bit more mechanical from out there. But Wiggins' feel for the post is ridiculous for his age and really, position...he's gonna be a nightmare to guard when he fills out his frame and adds new moves. T-Mac was also a special passer...Wiggins has solid passing instincts but I don't see him becoming a legit point-forward type player. T-Mac never reached his defensive potential, whereas Wiggins could be up there with Kawhi and Butler down the road.
Anyone see a bit of Dominique in him?
Also, what is up with calling Lavine a scrub? Dude has been killing it recently. He was not supposed to be doing anything close to what he has in recent games. The talent is all there and it's more than just flashes, the kid is producing too. The problem with Lavine is that he's a SG and they haven't accepted it yet. He needs to put on like 10 pounds of muscle, improve the consistency on his jumper, and he'll be a monster 2 guard.

wiggins point production will be cut in half real soon once refs start calling for his patented hooking defenders on post ups...he takes a big swing which should be offensive foul...towns does the same thing
