Just looking at his highlights on yt. This guy had it all. He had the Size, a little bit of speed, jump shot, post game, rebound game etc..
Why didnt he turn out better than he was?
Nothing from Lamar, two rings is a great accomplishment.

Personal tragedies, drug use, work ethic

His jumpshot was erratic at best but he has all the tools and the talent in the world. Just did not have the mentality of a true alpha and also his poor work ethic did not help.

Shammgod! I remember watching that video yearsssssss ago. F*ck, this thread is making me miss Lamar.
He was such a great athlete, he literally had everything, from athleticism to skills. His personal life (deaths) is what held him back. He was an emotional wreck, ticking time bomb. He's such a great guy, but being that has its cons, I think he was really a sensitive person & that had a lot of impact in his game.
Had he play for a great coach like Greg Pop or Phil during in his early years, I'm sure he'd be an All-Star caliber Point Forward - Magic 2.0 for at least half a decade. When he came to LA, I think they were still trying to figure him out, then when they got all the pieces together, he became a role player.
He'll always be my favorite player. Shaq & Kobe at #2. lol It's just that I could relate more to him. #ForeverALaker :(

I remember him being in the media a lot...
He should've kept his head down and focused on winning rings
