What would it mean for Anthony Davis if his inside game sparked an upset of the Warriors?

I think he's gonna be a monster, it's the rest of the team that may shit the bed. If Klay or Curry have an off-series and a player like Ryan Anderson plays his ass off, the Pelicans have a shot.

Anthony Davis does nothing but shoot 15-20 foot jumpers, you should watch him play. He's like Garnett except with absolutely no post game as opposed to just preferring not to use it.

NO certainly has the talent to upset the Warriors

Reke averaged 17/5/7 on 45% shooting
Gordon shot near 45% from 3 with over 5 attempts a game
Jrue averaged 15/3/7/2 on 45/38/86 shooting, not bad for a starting PG
Asik is a legit rim protector and a great rebounder, we know that
Anderson is a dark horse, if his shot is on he's unstoppable
Norris Cole has actually been putting up very efficient numbers in his bench role

NO has the 3pt shooters and playmakers around Davis, they got some bench pieces, too. I certainly think they can win a game or two, but you do have to realize that they have no Playoff experience. AD would have to beast and guys would have to shoot lights out for them to have a chance because they're not going to stop Golden State from putting up 105+ points a game, especially since they were in the bottom 10 in defense.

you obviously haven't watched him play too much, he can certainly make plays in the post.

Fair enough. Looking forward to watching some more of his non-post up game.

I don't know, but if that happens I'd be about as wrong as possible on this whole Pelicans situation.

My argument over the last couple seasons has been that the Pelicans were likely to win 1 or less playoff series by the end of the 16 season and that they shouldn't have given away so much and signed certain players they did in order to just be a first round exit team with no real chance to do anything.

I still think it's a sound argument and I think the Warriors will destroy the Pelicans (even though I'm pulling for the Pels), but an upset here would force me to admit I was wrong.

We'll see...

The warriors will destroy them, I don't see the Pels getting a single game.

HOWEVER, i'm very interested in seeing what the Pels can do with a fully healthy roster for an entire season. Yes there's a mix match of player types there, but they really came together towards the last 15 odd games and started playing a very solid brand of basketball. The team that played the spurs was on a whole different level compared to the pre allstar weekend Pelicans.

Word, they picked a great time to be healthy. Just picked the wrong team to go up against.

Nevertheless, I got warriors in 5.

You only need a hot Klay or Curry to win, and it's unlikely they'll both be off enough to have the pelicans overcome them.

Should be a fun series nevertheless, first game of the playoffs!

Anthony Davis has absolutely BEASTED against GSW this season. The Warriors have no answer for him.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201412040GSW.html

30/15/3 on 14/19 FG, 2 stl 3 blk only 2 TO

http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201504070NOP.html

29/10/2 on 10/21 FG, 2 stl 4 blk 0 TO

They won one and lost one in the games AD played, and AD looked like he was too long for Draymond to handle.

The bad news is that it took a horrible outing by Klay (7 pts 2/10 shooting with 4 TO's) to barely squeak a 103 to 100 victory over GSW.

I hope it'll be a good series, simply to ground the Warriors. I am rooting for the Warriors to win it all.

Let's not live in fantasy land here.

Anyways Davis is young and has many years to write his legacy, I'm not even gonna begin to talk legacy for him until another 4-5 years.

Its a fantasy, but if it would happen, it would be even worse than Mavs '07 meltdown. AD would get 10 bars of rep :D

More likely they get swept while Brow puts up late '80s Hakeem numbers.
