He's in at the top 20 for all-time player earnings. Even if he had working knees, he wouldn't have much incentive to play. He doesn't seem to care about his legacy either.

why should they especially after they are done playing? most do it because it brings them money by being associated to some team. all the good players from previous eras who kept close relationship with their team are still making good money because of that.
