Joe Crawford was sent into this game so flailing by Harden equals free throws. He shouldered Dirk once and got free throws in this game.

THe 3 point play was off the dribble, and one 3 was from the post after Tyson got a block and couldn't get the rebound. I can't remember the other 2 threes.

3 point play was just a fast break. One three from the block by Chandler, and the other two were Harden assists.

When did free throws become a bad thing? Last I checked they counted as points.

Entire league flops and exaggerates contact. Even role players. NBA is incredibly soft now. Harden just does it better than everybody else.

Harden is only as good as the refs allow him to be. MFer faked getting stripped and double dribbled. Great players don't do that. Gets continuation after he walks and shoots off zero steps. Probably got if from Krzyzewski.

According to ISH, taking lots of free throws is a bad thing. If you guys had Harden on your team, and they were having the success the Rockets have had so far this season, you'd love Harden. I realize a shit ton of posters here hate his game, but he's still one of the top players in the league.

Also, he did have 17 free throws this game and you dumbass box score watchers will obviously think all his FTA were total bullshit. 3 (or 2, can't remember) were intentional fouls (which results in 4-6 attempts). 2 were from techs. Rockets won and that's all I care about. Oh yeah, and Harden also ended up with 11 assists. You can't hate on that.

To be fair, Harden flops and flails around almost exactly like your typical dookie player. I mean if I didn't know better, I'd guess Harden played at Duke. But since he played for Arizona State, he had to pick up his bullshit flopping/flailing style of play somewhere, and it just makes damn good sense that he got if from coach K whose program is notorious for it's flopping and floor slapping.

Actually I'd guess Harden picked it up with OKC. Durant was the king of the rip move. He flops on jumpshots. Westbrook is nowhere near as bad as either and is far more aggressive/powerful in playing style but still loves to exaggerate the contact.

I have no player or superstar in the mix, no agenda. NBA has just become incredibly soft. Role players flop, everybody sells it. Superstars alot. Harden has just mastered it. He moves and attacks in such a crafty almost slo mo like way that gets the calls. It's annoying and sucks to watch but everyone does it. He gets rewarded an extra 1-3 times a game really :confusedshrug:

Good rebuttal. I remember facing OKC when Harden was on the team. Watching all 3 looking for FT's. Like I said tho it's whatever because every single player does it. It's hilariously naive to think coaches aren't telling the players to flop and look for contact given how the game is reffed.

You get FT's for everything. How soon people forget Durant and the rip move that the NBA basically had to step in and say they weren't going to call as a shooting foul. Many players did it like Billups, Pierce etc. but Durant much like Harden has with today's rules mastered it.

hes skilled at drawing fouls but he blows at actually putting the ball in the basket (unless it's a free throw)

4 for 11 from the field. Free Throws.

Fools Gold Superstar.

Production drops off a cliff in the playoffs with less whistles, and when player's defend at a higher more intense level.

He shot 48% with 5.4 makes from 2 this year. 37% on 2.6 3's. He got to the line a bunch which is annoying to watch but when he gets there he converts at a high rate. It's just efficient basketball. 27 points on 18 shots.

If it translates we'll see. He averaged 11 FTA his first playoff series with Houston, 8.3 the next. He's just played shitty in the playoffs. People point to the lack of FT's but it's been more about him shooting the 3 poorly and just not hitting shots.

Team defend 3's in the post season, they don't just let you shoot them un-guarded. The refs swallow their whistles. Thus Harden continually struggling in the post season where REAL superstars solidify their legend.

Huh? Teams don't defend the 3 in the regular season? Silly. Defense obviously gets tighter but the 3 is always defended. I just pointed out that Harden averaged 11 FTA his first playoff series with Houston. 8.3 the next series and 17 so far. Refs aren't "swallowing" their whistles that well are they?

It's the fact that he's shooting 42% and 43% in both years from 2. That's where the big drop off comes. He shot 30% from 3 last year in the playoffs. That's awful and just shrinking or having a bad 6 game stretch. He's played bad in the playoffs but the whole free throw thing is a myth.

Everybody gets the whistle in today's NBA.

Enough for James Harden to shoot 6% less? Hardly. That's just a poor outing. Sense of urgency? It was the first round. Teams defend the 3 in the regular season. Things are tighter in the playoffs but not so that you go from shooting 36-37% to below 30%.

Ignore the rest. The whole FTA and his 2pt% and his just poor overall shooting. Whatever fits your agenda.

Also, Joey made that charge call on Lebron in Game 5 with Tyson just inside the restricted area, which was a ballsy ****ing call.
