All Things Must Pass - Harrison
or
Plastic Ono Band - Lennon

Either answer is a good one - I also like Band on the Run, but it has some filler.

Double Fantasy, Band on the Run, All Things Must Pass, and Ringo

Which album was this one on: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZGYYDvZnpg

?

George was always the best Beatle.

If he had a bigger Ego or wanted to be "the man" he could have easily outshone John and Paul.

"Imagine" does deserve mention though. Not so much the album, but the song. One of the best songs of all time IMO.

That's from Cloud 9, good but pretty 80/90s cheesy.

80/90s cheesy = awesome!!!

But for real, George was always my favorite beatle.

Loved him w/ the Wilburys too.

Double Fantasy definitely has some really great songs but along with them it has so many Yoko songs to take it seriously. It's like Lennon deliberately placed goofy cringe worthy songs in between some really great ones, just for the fun of it.

Skip the Yoko songs and listen to "Starting Over", "I'm losing you", "Watching the Wheels", "Woman", even "Beautiful Boy" is kind of nice. The only Yoko song that is somewhat catchy is "Every man has a woman who loves him". That's it.

Forgot about that one. Good call.

All Things Must Pass is so great. Who knew George had a triple album inside him just waiting to come out?

McCartney is remarkable for the sheer volume of work he's done post beatles but aside from Band on the Run most of his albums only have 1 or 2 noteworthy songs. His compilations and live albums are better imo.

None made a truly great record after the Beatles, but All Things Must Pass comes closest. Would have been great if it was just one record and someone forced Harrison to toss all the weaker material.

Reading about the recording of that album I came across this quote:
The sessions produced a double album's worth of extra material, most of which remains unissued.

Dude was prolific.

since it's all pretty subjective, i'll go with ringo (1973).

the thing about this album is that the public had no way to expect it. people expected the other three to keep on making great music, but ringo was the guy who was kind of a late replacement in the band who got pulled along for the ride. he was easily the beatle taken least seriously of all.

not only does he nail so many of the songs on this album, but we hear him morph in to a kind of powerhouse singer... levels above his vocal work in the beatles. it was really quite amazing.
