View Full Version : I don't mind bending the rules for a good show but isn't this a bit too much?

ESPN is either trolling us or completely oblivious choosing that photo, Blake is not even near the rim, that foul so glaring and obvious :lol

I don't have a problem with anything a fellow Thunder fan has to say. Obvious foul...ESPN is trippin

He does that on most of his dunks. He played really well but he also used his off arm on that spin move they went off for (which was pretty but was an offensive foul and a defensive break down more than anything he did)

He did it with Pau and then he was on every top 10 possible and no one said a word about the offensive foul.

I've been saying it his whole career, he always uses his offhand on every move/dunk he makes and they don't call them

I see two off arm offensive fouls on one play....

Because you're confused as to what a foul is.

You can't hook and push off during a dribble move and you can't fend with your off arm. they are fouls by the book plain and simple. I'll admit though the NBA rarely calls them though but they are still fouls.

They are not going to call that on such a dunk. That`s just how NBA operates.

Insignificant? Breaking a guy's arm in mid air in order to get off a clean dunk is insignificant? I know you're happy the Clippers got the win, but calm down bro.

What are you watching? He barely touches him. The gif's in slow-motion for f*cks sake.

ever watch a game live? the moment you realize players actually get hit and hit hard on every play.

Hits in TV appear comical many times - they're not.

It's just not something that they look for, half the league uses their off-hand to fend off defenders on drives.

Full speed it would be a difficult call and one they don't really wanna make. Slow motion makes it look bad but it's fraction of a second touch in real time.

Guy saying the gif and his OP are different dunks needs to look again.

In real time everything is difficult to tell and that's why there are professionals who do this for a living called refs.
He did the same thing on two dunks that are three minutes apart:

I was wondering how Baynes magically 'misjudged' the block and totally missed...

Now I know why. You clearly see Baynes hand goes up, and Blake pushes it to the side. WTF is that?

Offensive foul, and its not even debatable.

Yeah bit that fraction of a second was enough to move Baynes hand out of the way.

That's all it took.

That seems one of those gifs people use to try to prove how bad defense was in the 90's.

Not saying it isn't a foul but we're also blessed with replays.

Oh yeah, I mean it'd be nearly impossible to see that fraction of a second swipe by Griffin.

But these guys are paid to spot that. I don't think the ref didn't see it as much as it was just the ref not wanting to call that an offensive foul.

One ref is actually watching from the best angle, the one that's most clear in the replays, that makes it even more outrageous:

A lot of players use their off hand to create separation. LeBron for example has been doing it for years. It's just a natural motion to be honest. I do it all the time when I hoop. Yeah, it's a foul but rarely ever gets called.
