Even I will admit Paul and the Clips were fantastic last night, but you gotta be ****ing kidding me if all of a sudden all of you who thought the Spurs would win are now jumping ship. This is the ****ing Spurs we are talking about they have the best coach of all time who is a genius at adapting to situations (like Tiago being hurt). Parker and Green played like donkey shit. They are a ****ing lock for game two no ****ing way they go back home down two games. Gonna tie it up then ya'll gonna be back on the Spurs wagon.

Agreed with OP. Clippers played an amazing game but if you think that's a reflection of the Spurs being done, you are dead wrong. Every year.

I think the Clippers played the perfect game, quite honestly, and the Spurs played sloppy. The level the Clippers played made them look all the stupider. That may be the most impressed I've ever been with a Clipper game.

Popovich is the master of adjustments and I see them taking Game 2, and I don't see the Clips winning in San Antonio. So I feel decent about this.

Not even close. Blake missed a ton of easy shots early and JJ Redick was 4-13. Chris Paul played near perfect, but other than him, there's plenty of room for improvement. Be scared.

I agree spurs will win game 2, they stilled looked like the better team they just need to hit open 3's, hit their free throws and fix a few strategic issues.

While on the other hand, the Clippers were playing a fantastic game on offense and Deandre Jordan had an impressive presence in the paint. Coach Papavic will need to address this and other issues such as attacking the 3-2 advantage when the clippers double Leonard in the post.

While I think the Spurs will win and split the series headed back to San Antonio it is not a guarantee. This first round series very well should be a Western Conference Final match-up. Spurs would be a 2 seed in the East.

Lol the Spurs were raining 3s and shooting 70% in the 4th quarter. The clippers just overwhelmed them, plain and simple.

It'll be different back in SA, but after that game it casts a doubt whether the Spurs can steal one at Staples.

I think they do if the spurs tie the series at 2-2 because either team can win the series at that point. Don't act like the spurs can't win game 2 or 5 in Los Angeles.

So if the Spurs could get game 2 or 5 in LA, why couldn't we grab a game in San Antonio? Especially considering the mismatches the Clippers illuminated and exploited yesterday.

The Clippers clearly have all the talent and capabilities to beat the Spurs in a 7 game series. That much is obvious.

It was a genuine compliment - if the Clippers play like that, all teams are screwed, not just the Spurs. Maybe it wasn't a perfect game, but it was as good as we will see from them. The Clippers are the best when Paul is offensively aggressive -- and if Redick isn't struggling, Paul isn't shooting anywhere near that often.

Yeah, if you want to look at the first half of the fourth quarter alone. :biggums:
Much of which was due to Patty Mills who Popovich was being too cute to sub in. He will play a larger role in Game 2.

Spurs were not playing like themselves yesterday. As for as the Clippers overwhelming them, they sure as hell did, and I pretty much already said as much. They played the perfect game, but they struggle when the score is close, and it will be.

I don't see the Clippers winning Game 2 and they will struggle to win at all in San Antonio.

Okay, so you see the Clippers holding the Spurs to 37% shooting while they shoot 51%? You see Crawford having his way, and CP3 playing out of his mind? While Green, Diaw and Parker add little to nothing?

I see Blake dominating with no one on the Spurs to check him, Paul continuing to play like the best floor general in basketball, and DJ manning the paint as he demonstrated yesterday.

what ^ said and nothing we saw last night was fluky, the only non consistent, unsustainable is Crawford going off for 20+ every game. But he doesn't need to do that either, someone else can have a big game also. A JJ Reddick could do it next.

Paul IS the best floor general in basketball but his problem is he could drop 25ppg in any given series and he doesn't seem content to do that. In a series like this, he has to assert himself more offensively rather than set up people who got theirs easily last night but won't have such a feast after the proper adjustments. Blake will have his way with the Spurs but I think the Spurs can deal with that. They can't handle an assertive and effective Paul.

I look forward to the rest of the series and hate that one team has to be knocked out. Clippers look scary good, and they are my favorite in most any other series.

That's pretty much how I feel. Spurs aren't going to let Crawford play playground ball and hit every shot he wants, and I don't think the Spurs are foolish enough to let Redick get hot. So if CP3 is unstoppable and Blake his getting his, the Clippers are looking just fine.

These are two very good teams. Sad one is going home early.

Don't buy the "clips had good luck, Spurs had bad luck" storyline.

Clips had their own negative outliers (Griffins layups, Redicks shooting, giving Spurs 17 offensive boards).

Clips played good D, Spurs didn't. That was the difference.

people forget that Chris Paul's teams normally start out well in a series.

but about halfway through the series, the other team figures out how to stop or slow down the clippers very predictable attack (where cp3 does everything and makes substantially all the decisions)..

this will happen again with the clips - if the clips win this series it will be in 7 games, and actually, i don't see it.

Game 2 is a must win for both teams..probably more so for the Spurs. If the Clippers win game 2 than the series is theirs. The Spurs will throw everything at the Clippers in game 2..they will play desperate.

Even if the Clippers win Game 2 they will probably get blown out in game 3. So the game that is truly a must win game is game 4 because a spurs loss means they down 3-1.

We can assume that Griffin won't get 3 easy posters in the 3rd quarter this game now that the refs looked at the game tape. That's a 12 point swing possibly.

Probably because the spurs are not easy to beat in Texas.

Clippers were 30-11 at home to San Antonio's 33-8. Three game difference means Clippers are easy to beat in Los Angeles?

If so, Clippers were 26-15 on the road, versus 22-19 for the Spurs, therefore, the Clippers have more of a chance of winning on the road than San Antonio.

Sure, Spurs might shoot a handful % better, while the Clippers teeter a bit, but hey, you see the Clippers having only 16 dimes as a team? Or JJ going 4-13? Paul with 3 turnovers? Leonard going 7-12? Mills and Belli going off?

Zero context. We've been plagued with injuries this year, record doesn't mean a whole lot. When we finally got healthy, we went on a nice run to close out the season. That's more indicative of what we're capable of, not our overall season road/home record.
