C-Webb should be in the studio over a guy like Shaq imo. He doesn't mess up the flow of the conversation as much. Either way, Shaq & Chuck don't pay nearly as much attention to what goes on in the NBA as they should for "analysts." Much of this show has devolved into pure entertainment, which is fine compared to ESPN or w/e.

Thank goodness we have some really good writers and knowledgeable folks on social media to get good info

imagine if tnt let shaq go and signed kobe after he retires

would be like a repeat of the 2004 offseason

that would severely bruise his ego

Thatd be hilarious. Id actually much prefer Kobe over Shaq as analyst.

But we all know Kobe will be a coach or something close to court/locker room.

He also sometimes gives somewhat good insight whenever he talks about how his career relates to the current situation. It's just whatever good he does is negated by the fact that he has to interrupt Chuck or Kenny's points for no reason. Whenever he tries to make a counterargument against Chuck, for example, he doesn't use any concrete evidence like stats to back it up and just tries to bring his point down by saying irrelevant bullshit.

Why would you want a yes man like Chris Webber? This guy doesn't have the guts to criticise chuck and Kenny like Shaq does. People watch inside the NBA largely for comedy, not for serious basketball analysis.

Because he's a quality analyst who is extremely versed when it comes to dissecting the game...

People say this every year. I see no problem. Shaq is there to be a character not to analyze the game.

shaq, along with almost every national TV "analyst", is merely there for entertainment purposes, not analysis.. hence, why you see almost no analysis on national tv.

I do not find O'Neal to be a particularly solid analyst nor a good character. Much of his humor feels forced and very much out of place. He attempted to make a joke about Jimmy Butler being a butler or something last night and it was awful. If he was Norm MacDonald, he could play the anti-humor card, but I don't think that's the case here. He just seems to struggle with flow, timing, and possibly his own ego.

It's strange because I frequently found his quips as a player quite amusing. Perhaps it's a situation of "less is more". He let the humor come to him back then (via interviews); he doesn't seem as skilled in creating it himself.

The sad thing is Shaq has improved 1000x than when he first got there. He's just not cut out to entertain where he has to use quick wits and improvise words. It's awkward.

Why would you want a yes man like Chris Webber? This guy doesn't have the guts to criticise chuck and Kenny like Shaq does. People watch inside the NBA largely for comedy, not for serious basketball analysis.Shaq's best comedic moments are in a segment featuring lolzy bloopers- it's not like he's the only one who can host that sort of feature in a show. Look, I thought Shaq would be a lot more funny in this setting, but he isn't that funny and he messes up the flow when Kenny or Chuck try to say stuff about the games. Chuck's more funny than Shaq on live TV imo anyway. I think C-Webb fits in better b/c he doesn't interrupt nearly as much.

How many times do you need to hear Shaq/Chuck pretending to get mad and threaten to fight lol per episode? The schtick got old, really quickly for me. I used to watch the post game show all the time and now I don't care for it. Just personal preference, I guess.
