this man has officially declined drastically.

His handles are not that crisp to begin with, but in this game he looks completely retarded. It's like he's going to turn it over every time he takes a dribble.

Imagine Kyrie without Lebrons leadership.

Oh wait, I don't have to imagine that. Kyrie couldn't bring the Cavs even close to the 8th seed in a historically terrible conference last year and arguably wasn't even the best player on his team.

Bump.

Lebron took over the 4th quarter.

I hope the OP makes threads like this whenever Lebron has a "bad" first half throughout the whole playoffs so I can bump them after he goes from distribute mode to scorer mode after half-time (which, if OP was smart, he would know that Lebron does ALL THE TIME).

And he didn't even have that bad of a first half so I don't know wtf the OP is talking about. Lebron in the first half got every one on his team going with a lot of good passes.

It's sad that your life revolves around Lebron, dude. I was hoping a pretend Heat fan would have a little more shame than to bandwagon someone that ditched his team high and dry and didn't have the balls to stick it out after he bled Wade dry. I don't watch Cavs games and I never watched Heat games outside of 2011 (ECF & Finals withstanding). Try again.

How far did Cavs/Heat ever go as Lebrons 2nd options (Mo, Kyrie or Wade) ever took them compared to how far they ever went as Lebron took them?

Did you see the 11' Finals? It didnt even matter whatsoever Wade played awesome and Lebron sure did his best job to let that guy "go as far as he can take them"... an underperforming Lebron means missing 27-30 ppg, 7-10rpg, 7-10 apg and one of the most versatile defensive pressures in NBA history.... its a puzzle Kyrie cant fill with simply his fancy handling & volume scoring.... because thats all he has....

seriously tho... Kyrie is a ****ing monster. I didn't think he'd be playing like he's playing. He is playing like he's a superstar that's been in the league for years. Getting Bron easy looks, that shit where he dumped it off to Bron for the lay in... or maybe the oop where he let Bron kick dude in the face.

I knew Kyrie was a great player, but he really is a lot better than I thought. Nobody can say empty stats, dude is a legit superstar. Bron is actually playing a PG role now, too.

I gotta say even tho I am still kinda salty @ Bron, it's fun to watch them when Bron isn't the one pounding it for the whole time.

I can't imagine the Cavs lose before the Finals. Mozgov with the **** back... it's like shit. I dunno.

Of course, the Cs are outmatched, but we'll see what happens. The Cavs aren't shooting amazingly well yet, either.

This is a Dynasty team. I wonder how long Bron stays. Even if K Love leaves they can easily still be a Dynasty. I'm hype for the Kyrie Bron duo.

Lebron seems like an old man out there. Lost his shots, no strength, no vertical
this man has officially declined drastically.

Lebron has something Love and Irving doesn't - playoff experience. With each step further in the playoffs it will shows more and more.
Lebron had matured during his days with Heat and now he knows which is better for the team, could addapt better to the situations, playing better team ball or take over games (and he could be clutch if needed).
Regarding his athletism - I am not sure if lost a step, probably "half of step", but he still got it. And I don't know the reason behind losing weight during the summer. I think it was for reasons beyond basketball ...

If you're not as good as Michael Jordan, then you suck.

Michael Jordan level is the highest possible measure in the so called modern era (past 1980) - that 6 rings to go with 6 FMVPs is something which we wouldn't see soon - safe for the next 10 years. He had all the individual and team accomplishments possible combined.

Kobe Bryant fails short in comparision.

Lebron lost his chances due to his mentality (my honest opinion). He's the only player (after Jordan's retirement) who had the abilities to catch him, but again MJs legacy is too big and he is one of kind. With that said I didn't considered him a loser, he had a hell of a career and it is still not finished yet.

Lebron's game is looking more and more like Magic Johnson the older he gets.

Based on the ISH Lebron's athleticism lost per year formula, I predict next year he will project to be somewhere between Roy Hibber and Sim Bhullar athletically speaking.

Lebron seems like an old man out there. Lost his shots, no strength, no vertical
this man has officially declined drastically.

This. OP made his thread after game 1. Didn't LeBron have a 20/7/6 game 1? Stats can be misleading but how has he lost a step when he's still doing that?

Curry can have the MVP, but LeBron is still the most valuable player.

I wouldn't go that far. He's def human now. I think the game plan of the Cs was stop Kyrie and let Bron do his thing. He did well in that game. Also Love is an x factor.

I bet the team that beats the Cavs, if they do, is gonna not overhelp on LeBron. For some reason, dude can't even handle the ball anymore.

Kyrie is the one they gotta keep from going off.

Edit: lol. 20 7 6 btw. That's a good all around statline but Bron is more like a 30 8 8 average guy in his prime.

Lebron does not need to score 30 every game on this team that is difference also. He can pick his spots and games to really attack when needed usually a tough road game or a must win type situation but at home he can get away with scoring 20-25 since u know other guys usually will step up.

yea he could get away with scoring 20 on like 7-12 with 2 turnovers. Like I said, Cs are putting him on an island, or were trying. He balled last game. Hit some great Js.

But he's taking 26 shots so I dunno if you're correct. Last game, he had few turnovers, shot 50%, and scored over 30. HE was also getting some clutch boards.

Bron is out there unable to blow by people like he used to be able to do, what seemed like easily, last year. His J is better than it's ever been. He even has a little pull up game, but in terms of 'lost a step' he has absolutely lost a step, and whatever 'a step' would be in regards to handle. Not that he's not still a superstar, but to say he's still by far the best player in the NBA is superluls to me.

And LeBron with 20-25 pts is still more impactful than any 20+ ppg scorer in the league if they score 20-25.

They should honestly just keep letting him take jumpers. He aint gonna Make more than 3 in a row from the perimeter. But they cant keep putting him on the line to give him confidence.

Why the hate?? Just admit that he's better than Kobe. Kobe is Jordan lite in terms of talents and physical gifts, but his basketball IQ is just above Westbrook.
He's not wrong though. LeBron's jumper hasn't looked as automatic as it has in the past. That and he's obviously slower on the drive. He should be operating from the low and high post way more often, but the coaching probably doesn't have enough authority over him to dictate that.

- spacing was better in miami due to chemistry.
- 40k minutes is no joke
- tactics on the celtics part. they can live with lebron scoring 15+ from the perimeter, their bigs are shading lebron a lot, like the spurs. celtics are very good coached team, 22-11 after trades if i'm not mistaking.

saw the entire season. He can blow by this season too, but it isn't as often as last season. Don't see what this fuss is all about, lebron is still the best in the game by a healthy margin.

Did you not watch the first two games? The Celtics were double and triple teaming Lebron. This last game they decided to do that against Kyrie, and it was far more effective.

What is really happening is the OP is desperately wishing that Lebron will hurry up and start declining.

But it doesn't seem to be happening. So instead, the OP makes embarrassing threads like this that backfire after Lebron has great games like the past two games.

Please change the title of this thread to "I really wish Lebron would lose a step"

LeBron has lost a step since last season or maybe it's more apparent because he doesn't post-up near as much at least not in the games I've seen.

Watch highlights of 2009 LeBron and then watch this season and it's very obvious. I think the change to more posting up with the Heat masked the decline the last two years only driving when there was little resistance.

He is still the best in the league but even with good screens he has more trouble getting to the rim and what used to be attempts at dunks or layups are now kickouts.

His handle is sloppy and using screens seems more difficult for him like he has lost some lateral quickness.

I mean did LeBron stop dunking on people because he felt bad for them or because he can't make the quick slashing explosive plays anymore?

I think the idea that he's lost a step is overblown. Yes, he's not as athletic as he was last season but the reason he looks so different is because he's playing a different role on the Cavs. I wasn't sure if LeBron would be willing to let Kyrie play his game, but from all accounts he has done a tremendous job making their games mesh.

30 points from Kyrie

Lebron's too predictable when he's up against better team... He just brick, or pass the ball in crunch time :confusedshrug:

same thing has been said about the 1st game losses against the BETTER Bulls teams the last 2 times Lebron has played them...only to come back and gut the cows. :confusedshrug:

to me, he always needs some type of lackluster performance to instill a drive to dominate as he's known too. seen it more eminent since the 2011 series in all those come-from-behind wins throughout the playoffs.

i expect the same from game 2 and the series being 1-1 heading to Chicago
