Assuming it's Wizards @ Hawks for round 2, how do you see it going down? Can the Wizards actually win the series? Or are they just looking decent because Toronto is playing like garbage? I think Hawks in 6

Honestly the Wizards were one of the worst teams coming into the postseason for East standards.

I honestly cant believe the Raptors are this bad.

John wall flat out admitted during the reg season that they dont have an answer for small ball and the hawks' lineups, so no.

No.

Atlanta should win comfortably in 5 or 6

Not at the way they played this season, but any team is capable of a collapse.

The Wiz even last year showed they are a better playoff team than regular season team. They rebound and play defense translates well into the playoffs. They will not be an easy out for any east playoff team

I very much like the matchup. Teague is athletic enough to hang with Wall, and we won't let Beal get wide open looks. Our bigs really cause problems for theirs because of how quick they are. Nene and Gortat don't want to chase Al and Paul out to the high post and beyond.

Plus we have a big time coaching mismatch in our favor.

Match-up favors the Hawks at the moment, but the Wizards could make it interesting.

Wizards certainly aren't going to win the first two on the road again, I'll say that.

I love how east matchups come down to "any team is capable of a collapse" :oldlol:

Wizards are better in the postseason because they don't have to play their scrub bench as much. But no they don't match up well with the Hawks.

Their only chance is to completely dominate the boards. Rebounding seems to be the Hawks only weakness.

Again, how come no one ever talks about the free pass the Hawks gets to the ECF?

No they don't have a shot. They don't matchup well at all. When you add that to the fact that they just aren't as good of a team in the first place...over in 5. 6 at the most.

It was discussed when they eased off the last game of the season against the bulls. They wanted no part of them. Genius move by coach bud if you ask me. Only getting one of either the cavs or bulls instead of both back to back is very wise.

The Bulls aren't that good..... They've done nothing but be average all year

You keep on saying that all year but do you realize when their starting 5 has played together without injury they are 21-5. And don't act like the hawks wanted them in round 2. Raps or wiz was a much better choice. Bulls probably wont beat the cavs...but they will give them a hell of a series

They haven't exactly been dominating the Bucks.

Then again, the Hawks haven't been dominating the Nets... the Cavs haven't been dominating the Celtics.

Strange shit in the east right now

And? They have a team full of all-stars and is currently the No. 1 seed.

Talking about a weak path to the ECF/Finals...

And Al Horford is their best player.

Actually have Washington in the ECF

Lot of people doubted Washington vs. The Bulls last year as well

scrub bench has surprisingly got us out of alot of jams .. I think what we are all missing here is the fact that Beal and Wall are entering that next level (Splash Brother Backcourt level)

Beal is not only playing with an edge but he's sharpening up in post game interviews.... acting like he gives a damn .. Less shooting from Wall and more from Beal and the sky is the limit for this team and Gortat has looked great so far it will interesting matchup for sure. That said, Hawks trashed on us this season but we are playing different ball right now Pierce has released the beast in these young pups.

It comes down to coaching.

Budenholzer >>> Wittman

Hawks in 6 max.

If hollins leaves D will on the bench for those last 3 mins, nets steal a game on the hawks floor

You are gettin some replies here ;-)

I wouldn't call it "free pass" since they got this confortable situation after winning 60 games in RS.

Paul pierce was coasting in the regular season. They have a 25% chance.

I guess it's because no one has a problem with the way their team was assembled.

I pretty much agree with this. I love the Wiz backcourt, but The Hawks have the bodies at guard to push them, even if they don't outplay them. Both Teague and Schroeder can keep up with Wall.

And the Hawks frontcourt is strong enough to hang with The Wiz bigs on D, but will make them really uncomfortable on the other end. There's no dead body to match Pierce with at PF. In fact asking him to chase Korver or Carroll will be a lot. And Milsap is actually doing a lot of the Pierce stuff now just better.

I think the only real Wiz advantage would be to punish the offensive glass, and hope that gets one of the Hawks bigs in foul trouble, because the Hawks become a much more manageable alignment when Pero Antic comes in.

Wiz will destroy the Hawks(pretenders)

Both will get raped by the stacked cavs though.. Just the way letinypeepee likes it

I really think the Wiz will push it to 6-7. In the playoffs they tend to have elite rebounding and defense. The issue is the offense, and that is all based on if Wall and Beal are both playing like All-Stars like in game 2. If they play that aggressive they can hang with the Hawks.

I wouldn't be all that surprised, we're not playing great.

I think Beal is the x-factor, if he keeps playing at a high level it makes the Wizards a completely different beast from what we saw in the regular season. We're going to miss Thabo's defense in that series for sure.

The trouble with the Wizards is that they have been exposed in the last 2 4th quarters. They have huge leads against a team (which seems overmatched), only to see that lead dwindle when the game slows down. That is a troubling trend imo.

Beal is an x factor
