Let's say you are building an 8 player playoff rotation from scratch, but have to pick your PG first.

You can surround your PG w/ whatever supporting cast you want.

All players must be active, and are in their current state (vs. prime, etc)

Please state which 7 players you surround your starting PG w/, and preferably, your reasoning for both your PG, and his surrounding roster.

Honestly, depends one what kinda team I want or mood I'm in. In rough order, I like Curry, Irving, Westbrook, and Wall. Paul is the quintessential play maker but for whatever reason I'm not a big fan of (he was really sick in 08 though, feels like an eternity ago).

Passbe.

I personally prefer scoring PG's rather than pure. Passbe's fully capable of having 15+ assists a night but can also put forth 80+ points if needed.

That's not a realistic team. Any random ISH poster could play point guard on that team and win 82 games.

Curry, best shooter ever that does everything else well.
CP3, best leader and ball handler today (imo) that also does everything else well

Toss up for me

Chris Paul
Klay Thompson
Kawhi Leonard
Dirk Nowitzki
DeAndre Jordan

Bench:
Manu Ginobili
Rudy Gobert
Darren Collison

Tried to make it somewhat more realistic. No fun on just taking all the stars. Paul is the most poised PG in the league, I trust his decision making more than any other PG. Some great defenders surrounding him and Dirk. A number of shooters. A solid bench, Manu's veteran leadership, Gobert coming in and you barely see a drop off if you even do from DJ, and we've seen Collison back up CP3 before, I think he's a perfect counterpoint

Didn't say anything about reastic...

If i were being "more" realistic:

Steph Curry
Klay Thompson
Kawhi Leonard
Draymond Green
Deandre Jordan

Tyreke Evans
Kyle Korver
Tiago Splitter
